SOURCE: white smoke and oil spewing out of troy built

Check your oil level. If it is way over full, smell it to see if it smells like gasoline. If it does, you have a carburetor leaking gas into the engine crankcase. If you recently had the mower over on its side for blade changing or inspection, you have gotten oil up on top of the piston and it should burn off in a few minutes of running. Check your air filter to see if it is soaked with oil, replace it if it is.

SOURCE: What type oil do I

For most Briggs engines / from the Briggs web site :

Oil Recommendation

  • SAE 30 40° F and higher (5° C and higher) is good for all purpose use above 40° F, use below 40° F will cause hard starting.
  • 10W-30 0 to 100° F (-18 to 38° C) is better for varying temperature conditions. This grade of oil improves cold weather starting, but may increase oil consumption at 80° F(27° C) or higher.
  • Synthetic 5W-30 -20 to 120° F (-30 to 40° C) provides the best protection at all temperatures as well as improved starting with less oil consumption.
  • 5W-30 40° F and below (5° C and below) is recommended for winter use, and works best in cold conditions.

Type of oil to use

  • Use a high quality detergent oil classified "For Service SF, SG, SH, SJ" or higher.
  • Do not use special additives.
  • Choose a viscosity according to the table above.

What engine oil is used for a model 01919, 5550 watt Troy-bilt genertor?

The generator engine is shipped from the factory filled with
oil (API SJ or higher 10W-30). This allows for generator
operation in the widest range of temperature and climate
conditions. Before starting the engine, check oil level and
ensure that engine is serviced as described in Maintenance.
This is from toy bilt manual >Good Luck...

Where do i get a coil at?

Well, if Briggs and Stratton engine, then try briggs and stratton.

If Robin / Subaru engine, try there.

Write down the model type and serial numbers, then pay a visit to local small engine repair shop and have them order for you.
