Years ago I bought a directory of medication that contained identification marks used on pills, information about the intended uses, common side effects and so forth. Similar used to be found in every emergency room, every pharmacy, doctor's surgery and probably police station...
These days much similar information can be found on the net via google.
Please post/upload pictures of the pill from both sides and edge on, one of which should show the markings very clearly. If the "G" could be a "C" it might be some thing entirely different. Take to a pharmacy and have them destroy it, and do not think about it further. If the G is a C it might 500mg ciproflaxin, a antibiotic.
