Three congruent angles means it is an equilateral triangle, so by definition it has 3 congruent sides. Or, by the Sine Rule of triangles

This is easy peasy.
A squared plus B squared = C squared
So, 4 squared (16) + 4 squared (16)= C squared
C= square root of 32 or 5.66

If I understand your terminology correctly, you have a triangle with a hypotenuse of 6' 3-13/16" and a side opposite the angle you wish to find with a length of 8" (and a side adjacent to the angle you wish to find with a length of 6' 3-3/8") Trigonometry says that the sine of an angle is the length of the opposite side divided by the hypotenuse. (all units must be the same, so convert everything to inches)
So sine (angle) = 8/(6 * 12 + 3 + 13/16)
sine (angle = 8/(75.8125)
sine(angle) = .105523
angle = arc-sine(.105523)
angle = 6.0573 degrees (from tables, calculator, computer etc)

Perimeter of a 1 x 3 rectangle


Rectangle has two pairs of equal sides.
L=length=3 units
w=width =1 unit
Perimeter = sum of the measures of all sides.
2 sides with measure L: sum of lengths=2*L
2 sides with measure w: sum of widths=2*w
Perimeter = 2L+2w=2(L+w)=2(1+3)=8 units.

All triangles have three sides.
There are two main formulas that do not call on trigonometric ratios.
The classic one:
  • 1. You need the length of a base and it corresponding height (the length of the segment perpendicular to that base and passing through the vertex (summit) opposite to that base. Area=(1/2) * (measure of the base)*(measure of the height). The base and height must be expressed in the same unit.
Heron's Formula if you have the length of the three sides. Let those measures be a, b, and c.
  • Calculate the semi-perimeter p with p=(1/2)(a+b+c)
  • Area=Square root of (p*(p-a)*(p-b)*(p-c))
  • a, b, and c must be expressed in the same unit.

in a 45-45-90 triangle, the lengths of the sides are in a ration, 1:1:√2, so if you have one side of the triangle, such as a leg, with the value in the ratio of 1, simply multiply that given number by √2 to get the hypotenuse, if you're instead given the hypotenuse, simply divide by √2 to get the answer for one of the legs. The legs of a 45-45-90 triangle are equal.

The ads for this device state that it uses the Pythagorean theorem to figure the distance of a 3rd side, if you can measure the other 2 sides. I How do I use this feature?


1) There is a big difference between Bosch promo manual and Bosch operation manual:
