The problem with fans is there really isn't much you can do with them. Normally they begin to make noise as the bearing assembly begins to wear, or it might just need to be cleaned. In either case you need to crack open the case on your laptop, then you can inspect the fan. You can try cleaning it at that point, but usually its easier just to replace it. The reason why it makes more noise when you play videos is because video media requires more system resources to run, which also generates more heat. So, while you have your laptop open you may want to check your video card (which should also have a fan) and make sure that its clean. A dirty video card will **** out a lot earlier than it should.

The fan could have a dry bearing problem and could stop spinning and cause the CPU to overheat and shutdown. The fan needs to be replaced and the dust removed from the fan/heatsink assembly.

It is getting hot - make sure that all the vents are not covered. Use it on a desk or large book, rathewr than resting on cloth.
Video places a big load on the computer, which makes it run hot. The fan is running to stop the computer melting. Be grateful it is running :)
The Acer One isn't the best designed laptop out there - components are cheap, that is why the fan is noisy.

Ok so i have a problem with my xbox 360 slim i recently bought call of duty ghosts and i played it for about a month about two to three hours a night three to five nights a week recently ive tried playing...

Try blasting some compressed air inside near the fan (when the console is off and cool) If not, there is either something lodged pretty good in the fan or the fan is failing. Both would require you or someone to open the 360. Cheap fix though, considering the overheating hasn't taken too much of a toll on the hardware.

Have a 2.26Ghz Celeron D, Intel 865 chipset, 750MB RAM.....everything was going fine until some days ago, all of a sudden, began experiencing overheating.....the CPU temp used to be around 45 celcius...

Other than the compound being dried up, or the heatsink not sitting properly on the cpu, the only other common cause of overheating is a clogged heatsink or fan, especially if someone smokes around the computer, the best way to fix this is to use a can of compressed air to blow the dust out from between the fins on the heatsink as well as the fans. Other than that fans will usually begin to make quite a bit of noise before they begin to fail, but it is possible for them to slow down over time, as a last resort you can try replacing the fans. ( be sure to check not just the one on the heatsink but the one on the power supply and any others providing exhaust to the case) You can also try using compressed air as well as a vacuum cleaner on the power supply to increase the airflow through the case.
hope this was helpful.

My wii is making a whirring noise. Still reads

This is no doubt your system fan. it may be dusty and now having some trouble doing what it does. compressed air should clean this for you, unless you want to open it and manually clean the fan.
Hope this helps you.
