It is an internal fault. The main board isn't recognizing something, you have a surge, and/or a sensor in the camera is bad. You need a camera repair shop to have a look at it as it is hard to narrow down these things. Get a quote first before going to the shop because it may just be better to buy a new camera if a shop charges a lot to just look at the camera. Sorry for the bad news, let me know how this turns out.

Hi,

This may be a battery or battery connection issue. If you have already replaced your batteries with fresh ones, I would try cleaning the connections with an eraser head. If that doesn't work, you might want to contact SVP support Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

This problem of switching off automatically, or turning off is noticed very frequently.....
Most people try replacing their batteries with new ones, but still find the problem persist. Infact, someone had mentioned that this problem is a manufacturing / design defectNo definitely not! People hearing such stuff, have stopped trying to fix their camera!
Now, the solution to the problem is rather simple. Most probably you’re using a lead battery instead of alkaline battery. Though both lead & alkaline batteries may be of the same voltage rating (1.5v), the difference lies in the ampere rating. Digicams need the power of alkaline batterie. So, just go on - replace your NEW batteries with alkaline batteries!

unless u havent dropped ur camera and in the process havent damaged the internal circuits... this is the only possible explanation.....

if ur camera comes with an AC adapter try powering ur cam with the adapter....and I'm guessing the problem should go away.by then....

If you have a spare charged battery, try that first. When you turn the camera on, you should hear the lens motor run to its focus position - do you hear that? Is there any indication on the LCD screen? The possiblity is, if the batteries are charged, is that you have an internal power circuit failure or a faulty lens motor/driver, as the sequence for these cameras' startup is to initialize the lens focus and the LCD circuits. If its not the battery, there is not much a user can do, other than send it to the manufacturer.......

good luck with ur camera
have a nice day....
thank you for using Fixya

How do I turn it on ? I dont see an on or off button.

Does this camera have a slide front that covers the camera lens? If so, sliding the cover to expose the lens is what turns the camera on. If it won't turn on, maybe it needs attention to the batteries.

Wont come on

Try taking your battery out and putting it in the other way around. There's usually + and - signs for lining it up. Also consider trying a different power source, such as powering the camera from the wall. Often the battery just isnt charged.

Generally this occurs when the battery power is low, or the battery is faulty.
Check to see that no moisture or foriegn materials are in the battery storage slot.
