SOURCE: Bauknecht GSX4756 dishwasher

I have this problem frequetly - it's an easy one to fix! Just press the programme button which changes the programme setting you want (on my built-in GSX4756 it's the last button on the right) and keep it pressed in until the beeping stops. Then start it again (will probably be on the rinse programme if it's like mine).

SOURCE: dwf50 hotpoint aquarius dishwasher

hi, just found this forum after searching the web 4 a solution to my hotpoint DWF50 problem.
I came down this morning to a machine which base tray was full of water and lights 3 ECO & 4 Fast flashing.
Anyway my solution was as i had seen a hotpoint engineer do once before was to press the start/reset button trip the catch, to fool the machine into thinking the door is closed then put in a program, press start, the machine hums slightly but doesnt do anything then after removing the large filter from the tray at the bottom underneath the lower basket insert a length of wire, with a loop on the end (Tip i used a wire coat hanger from the dry cleaners) poke in ythe hole that the dirty water drains from, after a bit of poking about the pump started working and the water drained away. Tip place a hook at the other end of your wire impliment to put your finger in to stop the wire getting caught in the pump mechanisim. After wards u have to hook back the door catch to the normal position, Tip another piece of the coat hanger with a right angled piece at the end will do this. This worked for me, saved me some money esp as D & G insurance ran out 2 weeks ago.....stu

Milky water when rinsing in dishwasher & gritty covering on dishes

I have spent many years (47) in the catering industry using catering dishwashers, under counter models, corner- wash stations and also conveyer machines..

The milky water is a by-product of the wash water and rinse water mixing.

The spray are has to rotate freely or the dishes won't wash or rinse properly. They spins a lot faster than you realise and this adds pressure to the water, but also a pulsating effect to remove dirt.

Over doing the salt can cause more problems that it solves. The gritty film may indeed BE salt. I actually prefer Calgon as a softener.

My advice is to remove both top and bottom spray arms. Check the slots/holes for obstruction, and run water through them under a tap, outside to inside (the opposite to how it is in the machine) rocking the arms up and down to allow any obstructions to flush out. Lemon pips and toothpicks are out biggest problem! Put the arms back and make sure they spin freely. Sometimes they just lock up for no apparent reason!

Use CLR descaler in the machine to clean it using the instructions on the bottle. Then run the dishwasher using the recommended doses of detergent and rinse aid.

All my clean dishes have a coating of salt

Check that you rinse aid and dish washing salt is full, it could be that you didn't pack the unit correctly and that one of the propellers got hooked on a dish or something, if not put it on full heat and put only a few items in and see what happens

I want to know where to put my dishwasher tablet in my Kenwood KDW4TTSL please. And where does the salt go and how much do I use?

Im presuming that you don't have a manual. If you would like one, you can download a free PDF from here:
http://dl.owneriq.net/4/4e71b4c9-e100-4066-a29e-9c46abc1f5cf.pdf

According to the manual:

There is a recess on the right hand side of the door for detergent (Picture on page 6 of the manual). You can put a tablet in here.

With regard to salt (Also on page 6):

1. Unscrew the cap from the salt container

anticlockwise, which is located on the right side of the

inner box.

2. Load the salt into the container. Each time you may load 250g of salt, which can be used for 15

cycles.

3. Fill the water into the salt container until a small amount of water comes out(it is very important

when you use it for the first time).

4. Screw the cap back carefully.

Note:

1. Load the salt before the beginning of wash cycle so as to prevent corrosion.

2. Load the salt when the salt indicator light in the control panel is illuminated.

3. Only use dishwasher salt.

I would like to clean off the calcium deposits that are in the dishwasher. How can I do this or what product should I use.

there are few things you can do to remove the calcium deposits.....

Change the detergent you use. Powdered dishwasher detergent is more efficient in removing grease and oil than gels. Decreasing the gunk left on surfaces may help slow lime scale buildup.

Put a quart of vinegar or lemon juice in the bottom of an empty dishwasher and run it up to the "dry" cycle once a month to keep up with accumulating scale. Extended exposure to mild acid and hot water dissolves most scale.

Clean circulator arms with vinegar or lemon juice and a vegetable brush or toothbrush. Let the acid sit on the scale before scrubbing. Use a needle or hat pin to pierce clogged holes, then rinse by running a cycle with vinegar.

Use plain salt or baking soda to scour surfaces with a sponge or rag. Rinse with boiling water or run a cycle with an empty dishwasher. Do not run the dry cycle.

Dishes aren't clean. i have run vingegar and CR through the cycle but dishes and glasses still have a film.

The most common cause of film left behind is a broken heating element.

The heating element is not only used during the dry cycle, but also to raise the water temp. during the main wash cycle to activate the dishwasher detergent. Fixing the heating element should "clear" this problem right up!
