If you can still open the door when it's supposed to be locked it probably means that the interlock on the door catch is faulty.Easier to fix than if the door is locked shut!!...Not a big job but should be done by a qualified tech. See if you can find an independent, self employed tech...Generally cheaper and better than 'Brand Name' servicemen..Good luck..........Nomess

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
This is the WFS1071AW version of the manual and the pump cleaning instructions are the same:
And then enter "WFS1071" Instructions for removing the filter are on page 14 of the user manual.
Pump / Filter cleaning POWER OFF UNIT UNPLUGED:
Basically you open the lower panel by pushing down and pulling toward you at the top. Use something like a cake pan for catching water. Grasp the CIRCULAR filter and rotate it COUNTER CLOCKWISE until the water starts draining. WAIT until all the water possible drains. Then unscrew the filter and pull it out. Clean out any debris. Make sure to reach deep into the filter hole and CAREFULLY clean off the sensor if you can reach it and then reinstall the filter by rotating clockwise. Last steps install the lower panel and PLUG IN POWER.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
