The blind stitch would look like a couple of straight stitches and then a :"V" shaped zig-zag that will zag left to catch the very edge of the folded fabric.

The above is a picture of the fabric guide in use; it slides into top portion of your presser foot shank. It can be used in either direction for guiding uniform stitch lines.
Hope that helps! Happy sewing!

SOURCE: Need to know how to set the tension to sew hems on

Re-thread the machine and make sure that the needle is in properly. The tension would not cause the thread to break.

If it is not working, what is the machine doing? Try re-threading the machine again, check the needle to make sure that it is in correctly. There are no set numbers for tension- it is a feel, push, pull. If you could e-mail me back with a better description of what the machine is doing or not doing,

SOURCE: what are the settings for a blind hem stitch?

I downloaded your manual for free at www.singerco.com and I be darned, I see why you are baffled. Call Singer at 1-800-4singer and ask them to tell you. This is a first for me to see in a machine that is not that old, my 45 year old Kenmore has the blind stitch setting. There has to be some answer to this.

My singer sewing machine has the name Singer inspiration but does not have a model number. Is that not a genuine singer machine

It is not uncommon for some Singer sewing machines to not have a model number. However, if you are still unsure about the authenticity of your Singer Inspiration sewing machine, you can contact Singer customer service for assistance. But the following link shows the number provided to the model. SINGER 4212' INSPIRATION ' Supra Enterprises Corp (suprasewingmachines.com)

I have a singer sewing machine model 1 I am wanting to order a blind stitch foot. I don't seem to be able to locate can you help me?

Hm, if you talking of a blind hem foot, this indicates that one came with the Singer One.

1 ONE Singer Sewing

It appears your machine has a snap-on foot capability, so if that is the case, a snap-on blind hem foot should work.

Blind hem foot can not be attached to my machine

I downloaded and took a look at your user's manual, to get an idea of the problem. Apparently, the blind hem foot that you have is a screw on foot rather than a snap on foot. I don't know if you have tried to lower the foot when you are trying to change it; if that still doesn't work, you might think about getting a snap-on foot instead, and leaving the top part of the foot stationary.

It's also possible that your buttonhole foot CAN go up a little more; you might try bring it ALL the way down, then "smacking" it up to see if it won't go up just a little more. You might also consider a right-angle screwdriver to get the screw off.

Metal blind foot hem 6217c

The 6217C doesn't have a blind hem foot. You need the General Purpose (low-shank) foot, the General Purpose Needle Plate and the blind hem guide (part number 381213). The guide gets secured by the screw that holds the presser foot shank. This site, http://cart.jennys-sewing-studio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=473 , has the blind hem guide available. This metal foot might fit your machine: http://cart.jennys-sewing-studio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=530_73_101_164_168&products_id=463 .

I hope this helps.

Does the singer 3116 come with a blind stitch for hemming

Most sewing machines come with a blind hem stitch. It is the one that looks like several small zig-zags then occasionally a large one, or several straight stitches then a large zig-zag. Either will result in an invisible hem.

Some machines have a special foot but it is not necessary, mine does not. There is however a special way of folding the fabric.

Just purchased this model today and it has no blind hem foot. Instruction manual telle me I need to purchase from local dealer. Can this be odered on line? Manual quotes number 006812008 is this...

You can order from Singer at 1-800-4singer or ebay. On ebay they start at about $14 + $2 for shipping. Just put in "blind hem foot for Singer and you will see a variety of them. Take your pick. I don't know what Singer charges. JoAnn fabrics may carry them or a sewing machine retailer but anyway you do it, it is not expensive. Just remember that you have a low shank machine. Good luck and happy sewing.

Bought blind hem stitch for a 3116 singer and the needle hits it

I think you may have to make an adjustment on your blind hem foot, it also could be the wrong fit for your machine.

Selector dial stitches doesn't work

Suggest you ask the seller of yr machine. It runs on computers... They can malfunction. Singers were the Best for decades. From treadle days into the '70's. When a repair guy told me Singer only made parts for 2 yrs post purchase.
I have both of my Grandmother's treadle machines, and their scissors. Would Not buy a Singer, now.
