take hose off from iron end, press iron button ,breifly! keep tight hold of hose [best to put towel around hose while holding]see if steam comes out.if not hose could be blocked, then take hose from solenoid end and press button .if no steam comes out the solenoid is either faulty or the valve hole inside is blocked, turn off power and take nut off top of solenoid ,check spring and plunger for condition.the small hole may be blocked in the solenoid housing, try a needle in the hole to clear any blockage.

Sounds like the Steam control valve is blocked or not opening. try cleaning the iron with a kit from wallmart or similar store. Failing that :It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

SOURCE: The steam does not work.
Unplug the iron, and allow it to completely cool down before beginning any repairs. Inspect the steam vents from the outside, and use a pipe cleaner or
other small utensil to remove any excess buildup that is blocking the
vents. Be careful not to let the buildup fall down into the steam vents. Clean the steam iron's directional spray tip. Minerals and other debris
can build up on the nozzle over time and will greatly hinder the use of
your steam iron. Pour equal parts vinegar and water into the steam iron's water supply
tank. Put the steam iron above an empty pot, and turn the iron on. Let
it steam the solution until all the water/vinegar solution is gone. Now try use it to see it performance.
