Power off your TV, unplug the cable, then press the power button on your TV to release the electric on device. Then plug the cable and power on again to check.

MY philips tv model number 55PL9773/17 WAS TURNING OFF THE SCREEN AND LEAVING THE AUDIO ON FOR ONE MINUTE. THEN THE YELLOW LIGHT STAYED ON. THEN THE LIGHT TURNED OFF. thEN I TURNED ON WITH THE REMOTE AND THE YELLOW LIGHT TURNED ON AND A FEW SECONDS LATER CHANGED TO THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE TV TURNED ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BETWEEN 10 AND 30 IT DID THE SAME THING. NOW IT IS OFF WITH A BLINKING RED LIGHT PERMANENTLY ON. TO TURN IT OFF I HAVE TO UNPLUG IT FROM THE WALL. I REPLACE THE LAMP A FEW WEEKS AGO AND IT IS FINE.

GE 31GT740 clicks off and on

Dead, led flashing red/green at first, then going to red standby
Replace C604 (1000uF, 16v) elec. cap. It is in the decoupling circuit for the 5 volt supply
Reverts to standby from switch on via TV or Video
No 5v rail because FET MTP3055 o/c. (BUZ71 will do nicely)
Goes straight to standby, after a quick burst of power
Replaced R952 (39K), had gone slightly high

Looking for where to find this part

You need to fix power supply module (replace electrolitic capacitor on PCB) in your plasma. It's very frequently failure for this device.

Philips 42PW9982 TV does not turn on

The most common issue i find with Plasma TV's acting like this is a failed power supply in them, usually due to leaky/failed capacitors. About your only option is to find someone with the know-how to repair it, as its almost impossible to find a replacement board. I fix more TV power supply boards then anything else these days.
