SOURCE: freezer/fridge won't get cold enough

Madezmom, you have a defrost issue. If your model starts with 106 you more than likley have a bad defrost bi-metal, I will attach a picture of bad one. This sits on the evaporator in the freezer section behind the panel. You will have to remove the shelves and remove the back panel. Defrost the evaporator completely. The part number for the bi-metal is 2196155. See if yours is bulged like the one in the attached photo. If so, that's your problem..Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: ice tray stuck

Hi My Samsung freezer was nor a RB2155 it is a RS2630SH however after not making any ice because the tray was stuck in the upside down position or thereabout after 6 weeks it suddenly started making ice again, we had not done anything to it but we heard it dropping ice one evening and we had a look in the ice container and low and behold the ice box was full to the top, I would still like to know why it went like that in the first place in case it happens again it is a mystery. SOURCE: Zanussi fridge freezer - fridge not working

The defrost cycle is not happening like it should, that's what causes the block of ice (and poor air flow). If you have all that defrosted look at the defrost bi-metal, it usually is a small round disk with a couple wires coming out of it and it's clipped on the coils. When it's cold enough, it passes electricity to the heat elements, when it gets hot enough it "opens" and kills power to the heat elements. If that is bad (swollen cracked or bloated) and not passing electricity to the elements that's the problem. Another item would be the defrost timer itself, if it doesn't work (no clock motor turning) then it will never go into defrost. And the last and usually least expected failure would be the heat element themselves not working

Defrost by turning off for 48 hours and the unit will work ok (for a while)
Its a design fault common to many Samsung Side By Sides

SOURCE: loud noise from the freezer side

The problem is a buildup of ice on the plastic housing (the curved plastic bit) in the back of the freezer under the fixed shelf where the icetub goes. The fan behind this plastic housing is hitting the ice when the defrost comes on.

Unplug the fridge, unpack the freezer, remove the four screws in the back, take off the sheetmetal backing and let the fridge thaw. You can remove the plastic piece after a while and get the ice off (be careful not to remove the styrofoam insulation by going too quickly).

Reassemble and you're back in business, for a few months. I'm never buying Samsung again myself.

American fridge/freezer - fridge stopped cooling, freezer side ok

Have you pulled out the refrigerator and cleaned or used a vacum cleaner to get out the dirt and dust off the back of the coils, or if the coils are underneath, you need to get an inexpensive appliance brush for fridge, and clean the coils under the fridge, pull off the panel on the front bottom of the fridge, get a flash light and look to see if the coils are covered in dust....may just need to vacum and use appliance brush underneath...this should be done at least one a year, you will notice your fridge running much better and cooling back to normal.......hope this helps......

Freezer works, fridge part does not

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

All of a sudden stopped getting cold in the fridge portion, freezer is fine

If you completely defrost the freezer and restart the unit and it doesn't get cold in the refrig portion it could be the internal fan that moves cold air from the freezer to the frig area if it does get cold after an hour or so then it is probably the defrost coil needs replacing. I am not familar with your exact model but this senario applies to many different units.

Samsung RB1855SW won't stop beeping and fridge malfunctioning

Thanks so much for the advice. I just gently pried the door sensor switch on my Samsung RB1855SL out with a butter knife and then pulled out the electrical connection and it fired up right away. It looks like some orange juice seeped in and corroded it. What a relief to have the fridge working again, not to mention to not have to listen to the beeping.

Freezer and fridge don't cool at all. everything else works fine

Heya,
There is a fault with samsung fridges that when it goes on defrost it will not start the compressor or the fans again. If you turn on the power the fridge should run for a couple of hours and then stop if so you will need to get a tech out to order a samsung yellow sensor and a fridge defrost isolation sensor. If the fridge does not work at all if you would like i will talk you a couple of little checks before calling someone out.

Hope this helps

My samsung side by side giving me problems

Your problem with you fridge freezer.. Samsung have cocked up on the design of the back plate of the fridge.. There is a modification back plate now. This has a metal plate fixed on the back. when it is fitted the plate rests on the heater for defrost. the heat transfers through the plate and stops the back frosting up.. the frost causes the fan to stop.. Hence the modified back plate. i have come across many problems with these machines. hope that helps.... Kind Regards mcdapp..
