SOURCE: LG WM2233HW washer plumbing rattle.

Hello Justin,
What you are hearing is what they refer to as "Water Hammer'.. and aside from the noise.. it probably won't do much damage however home improvement stores such as Home Deot and Lowes sell add on devices that are installed onto your supply lines to absorb the shock when water is cycled on and off... You'll need to tell them exactly what size pipe you have and ( depending on how familiar you are with plumbing) you may want to hire a plumber to install.. They may have a water hammer add on that fits onto the screw on water lines.. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: maytag atlantis washer got water leaking from

I have an Atlantis myself. There can be several problems. Did you check that the fill hoses in the back are not leaking? Are they tight? There are hoses inside the washer and a pump near the front. I replaced my pump last year and I,m getting ready to replace the thrust bearing assembly (spin issues). Does the washer leak with every load? make sure water is not splashing over the tub when filling. The front panel comes off if you can and leave off and watch to see where water is coming from.

Continue to have leaking problems around one corner of slide in, keeping carpet wet?

My experience with leaking is that it is usually the window seal that is leaking. If you are sure that is not the case then I would check for a plumbing leak. Hook it up to a water source and watch to see if it gradually seeps in.

I recently found that my washer is causing a leak, only on the first drain cycle. The second drain cycle is fine. I thought I had a plumbing problem with the drain, however after snaking it and using ...

The most common leak point for this machine is at the center tub seal. Remove the front panel by removing the screws from the bottom of the front panel. Look at the bottom of the tub, directly in the center. See if there are any water marks around this seal or around the inside of the cabinet. If there is, this is a pretty intense repair requiring specialty tools, so you will likely need to call in a servicer. This typically runs about $300 or more to repair.

Leak at back of machine

A leak at the back of a washing machine can come from several sources.
It requires a good investigation.
Here are some of the first area to look at that are on the outside of the machine

1 Hot and Cold Fill Hoses may not be tight enough. So water can drip down the hose, or back of machine onto the floor
2 Drain Hose-Usually about an inch or so in diameter. Hose in new machines should not leak itself, but if it is not mounted or attached well enough into the drainage plumbing mounted on the wall (The box with the Hot and Cold Water Shut-offs, it will leak or splash water onto the floor during the drain cycle.
3 Damaged plumbing in the wall can seep under the wall and end up under the washer. This is very rare, but I have seen it.

4 There is a filter mounted behind a panel on the lower back side of the machine. It is possible a leak is occurring from that area. Take off the cover and see.

If the above don't handle it, the next step is for what is not easy to detect. Leaks inside the machine. You will need to go into it and LOOK with your eyes and a good flashlight.
Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

Solaris Model #06544860 leaking under the sink. How do I remove and how do I figure out exactly what is leaking?

The first thing I would do is to locate source of the leak. Look carefully at faucet when it is on and see if you have any water leaking from areator and running back down the underside of spout and leaking around base of faucet, also see if you have any leaks around handle. If the leak is from the areator you can just replace it and not have to remove the faucet. when you check under sink on faucet supply lines make sure they aren't leaking at that point. I would use paper towels or rags to wipe everything dry under faucet and let it set for 1/2 hour then check again. If it.s still dry run some water and use both hot and cold water seperatly, checking underside in between. If you determine that leak is coming from top side and leaking thru. Shut off water supply valves if available if not shut off supply to house, make sure water is off before proceeding. Disconnect supply lines from faucet,Remove retaing nuts on either side of base, and remove washers. Remove faucet and check for any obvious faults. If you think it was leaking around base get a small tub of plumbers putty. Most hardware stores stock it. Remove a golf ball sized portion or larger and knead in your hands until it is warm and pliable. Press into place in faucet base. Continue doing this until it's full. Reinstall plastic or rubber base gasket and put faucet back in place Put washers and retaing nuts back on a tighten till snug. Center faucet where you want it and tighten securely. Scrape off excess putty with knife point and wipe with paper towels till clean. Hook up supply lines and turn water back on. Check for leaks and good luck. Thank you

Leaking from a washer/dryer in condo

Just turn off the water, remove the hoses and unplug it, then bring it out away from the wall. You should be able to tilt the machine and see it from underneath to detect the source of the leak. Also, find how to remove the front of the washer without dimantling the machine and run it without the front panel on there. That is the best way to track down your leak. It could be a seal under the tub, a hose coming from the tub to the pressure valve, a hose from the water pump or the pump itself. The pump is at the bottom, so it will get wet regardless of where it is leaking from. Make sure you dry out everything before you start to look for the leak.

hi bigger
turn off the valves disconnect the hose check the threads on the water intake valve(bit the hose screws onto) are not damaged by cross threading. then try wrapping silk plumbing thread tape(available at all plumbong outlets including B&Q,Homebase etc.) around the threads(wind it clockwise and give it plenty)then check the rubber washer at the end of the hose is not damaged of missing and reconnect the hose

Water leaking into washer

is the drain plumbed into a spigot on the sink trap? if so this may be the source of water coming in when appliance not in use.
take the drain hose as high as possible in a swan neck under the sink and see if this cures it.
other possibility is a leaking inlet water valve but would expect fault then not to be intermittant

Water leak on occasion front load washer purchased around 2002/03

You need to remove the kick panel (under the front door). There are two screws at the very bottom of the kick panel, one in each corner.
This will give you visibility to see where the leak is coming from.
On the right hand side is the drain pump. The black hose goes from the pump, out the rear and into your drain pipe. It is secured by a clamp and is one possible source of leak.
If that connection is dry, look underneath the tub where the two parts, front and back of drum, come together. there is an o ring sealing the two sections and this is another source of water leak. (major problem is this is leaking)
Failing this you will just have to trace the source of the leak. You may have to take off the top of the washer to check the water inlet hoses which run on the top of the machine but would still show as a leak under the machine. Good luck.
