I have a motorguide model 930010390. The manual says to wire for 12 vdc. I just checked and mine is wired for 24 vdc. Will that hurt the motor?

Ihave a motorguide brute hyper 67 trolling motor can't get the 24 volts to work motor runs on 12 and 24 volts and all five speeds but don't have the thrust of 24 volts

This is most often caused by a faulty 24 Volt, section, (usually damaged output semiconductors, or the drive?) in the speed controller, fault, the only "Fix" is replacement. Simply obtain the entire speed controller and replace it "En Bloc" as it were. You will need to also obtain a service manual so you can disassemble it and obtain the parts numbers for the replacement parts.Otherwise take it to a professional and ask for a "Quote" as to prospective costings and go from there.

You have a high resistance short either inside the wiring or the lower unit. This will cause a voltage drop. I would be very careful not to keep it connected too long cuz the battery is trying to keep up with the current demand and may explode.

I bought a used trolling motor (motorguide brute 750 50# thrust) it has a 12-24 volt selector switch and three wires to hook up to battery, a black, a white, and a red. i'm assuming on 12v setting of...

the black wire goes to - and the red goes to + for 12 volts. If you want 24 volts you need to add another battery and run a jumper wire from the - of the first battery to the + of the second battery and hook the white wire to the - of the second battery. Here is a picture to help you.

My 12/24 volt trolling motor only runs on 12 volts

Did you connect 2 batteries to try the 24 volt version? You have to link them together like a flashlight, positive to neg and then out the other side, for 24 volts, like a golf car.
