I have U.S.Robotics modem 56k how do I get the driver for this modem with out charge?

i also just installed a u.s. robotics modem after the other was lost to lightening damage. i can connect but then nothing will come in or receive on this connection. when you look at the flow rate, there is info going out but none coming in. i also get booted constantly (not that it matters when i can't surf or work on the net anyway!). i tried dropping the modem speed, i tried at strings to make the modem a v90, i even tried at strings to make the modem speed drop to 33 since i live in the country and my dial up speed is abysmally slow anyway. nothing works and yet my laptop works just fine on our phone line, so it is NOT the phone but the modem or the computer. HELP!
