Tips to avoid phishing

Phishing is one form of internet fraud wherein unscrupulous individuals extract personal information and use them for illegal transactions.

Here some sample of phishing.
In some selected trading websites, phishing is commonly done in order to swindle other members of the site. example of phishing sites area adult content websites. these sites area easy to create and they generate lots of internet traffic. this is the perfect place to get information. Former members our company (who has been banned) commit this type of offense. they are called "carders", people who use other people's information for their own benefit. to this day, there are countless number of carders in the world wide web as I know it, and this should serve as a warning to all.

Doesn't it make you wonder that a seller, who can sell items valued at less 100,000 at half the price?at close scrutiny, you will discover that person doesn't have own car, commutes to do meet ups and you can't fathom how they could afford such a luxury item. this is how carders operates and this has a lot to do with phishing they create fake websites and make it attractive to internet surfers.
Anyone who wants to buy the items displayed there will surely input their credit card details and other personal information which will then used to make fake credit cards. these fake cards will then be used to purchase merchandise from legitimate websites like Amazon.com, newegg, etc.
after 2-3 weeks after they received their items, you'll be surprised that your credit card statement will reflect purchases you did not make! this is a classic "phishing" technique.

Another form of information extraction is by establishing a fake company and asking for resumes online. We have received reports of incidents like this be careful about sharing personal information. even within the other known website "phishers" any personal information they collect will be used to open up fake credit card accounts which they determine the credit limit. these accounts will be used again to make purchases in your name without your knowledge.

Emails are also prone to phishing. phishers will create a fake Gmail or Yahoo which claims to have lost their database and needs you to re-enter your username and password. Do not fall prey to this sort of charade. the information they gather from you will be used to access your email accounts.

Tips to avoid Phishing.
1. Make sure a website is legitimate before giving away credit details and personal information.
2. Avoid submitting resumes or biodata when you doubt the legitimacy of an agency
3. If someone sends a private message asking for personal information, Do not give it unless you know the person.
4. Be careful when signing in to your email account. If you finish checking your emails, please sign out. Do not leave your account sign in, specially internet cafe shop.

I hope this information will be helpful.

I have received a check from Medimpact Healthcare Systems, LLC. Is this legitimate?

The company is legit Judy, but there is no way to know if the check is.

Pay it into your bank. If anyone says it is a mistake, and can you refund the money via MoneyMart or Western Union, it is a scam, so ignore them and say you have contacted the bank and passed on all the details to them. Don't get into any conversations with them. In these days of smartphone banking, you can photograph the check top bank it and keep the original. You can then send it back if someone says it is a mistake :>)

There are scams that work like this. You get a check for some reason, you bank it. You are asked to pay most of it back minus an admin fee for your trouble. It seems like easy money for you. You pay them the money for the overpayment via Western Union. After one month, or even two months, the bank inform you either the account has been closed, or the check is fraudulent, a fake check. The bank take the money back, you are out of pocket for what you sent via Western Union, because with Western Union, there is no way to get the money back. They went into a Western Union shop, showed fake ID and walked away with your money.

Someone has asked us the following question: Would you accept a U.S. Postal Money Order? How should we respond?

I would be very careful excepting money orders or cashers checks. Some people have used this as a means to fraudulently pay. What happens is the fake money order or cashiers check is excepted by the bank because they look so real. When the bank processes the item, it comes back as fake and then they charge your account. As you would suspect, it's to late for you to get the item back because you shipped it.
The only option I would recommend is that you tell the seller that you will take it, but you can not ship for 10 days. Yes, if the customer has a real money order they may get upset, but you need to protect yourself.
I hope this helps.

How i check original or fake sites?

Phishing is when a bad person tries to trick you to logging into a fake website. The fake website will store your log in details so that the thief can log in to the real website and steal your credit card data or transfer money from your bank account,

The only sure way to ensure you are on a genuine website and not a phishing website is to carefully type the URL into the browser location bar yourself.

Otherwise, do not trust the URL even if you think it looks correct because phishers have various ways of making a fake URL look real (for instance using the number '1' in place of the letter 'l').

The best and only solution (especially if you are logging into a bank website or a shopping website that stores your credit card details or even social networking websites which are often attacked by phishers) is to ALWAYS type the URL manually into the browser location/address bar and NEVER log in or provide confidential information to a website directly after clicking a link in an email as this is how most phishers will get you.

Never give your log in details to out to anyone. Most legitimate websites will not ask for user name and password as they will have automated functions to send your password to you by email.
