Pencil Torch flame is not powerful welding torch, its a lighter flames and flames come out the sides through the air holes. How can i fix this? Thank you

Try turning the valve down or towards the off position. It may take some fine adjusting to get it just right.

Need to know if the flame can be adjusted and why it seem to "pop" on when the heater kicks on

All flame can be adjusted. The pop is too much gas bypassing the lighter flame.

60's vintage ST DuPont Ligne1 small version lighter flame too small

Try Compressed air at the pilot flame jet or drilling the jet slightly larger. If no blockage is present, most likely a problem in the regulator pilot circuit.

Several new torch lighter, filled with butane, has spark, wont light.

adjust the fuel output , it is easiest to do by holding the button down while lighting the flame with a seperate lighter and then setting the flame on the lighter that does not ignite proper, also take into account that the temperature of the lighter by being held in your hand for a while or by being in your pocket can have a great effect on the pressure of the buttane being expelled.

How do i light the pilot on my Rheem rgba-100c forced air furnace?

Use a barbecue lighter. Turn the valve to pilot. Light the lighter and put the flame at the pilot. Press and hold the gas valve. Keep holding it for about 20-30 seconds after the pilot lights. When you release it, the flame shoud stay lit. Turn the valve to open. If it doesn't stay lit, replace the thermocouple. It is the brass tube that the flame flows onto. They cost less than $10 at most hardware stores. They are universal fit. I keep a spare around all the time, since they are a cheap investment. All you will need to replace it are a screwdriver and a small adjustable wrench.

Colibri wellington ligther refilling

Turn the flame height adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting by turning it clockwise.
There are three different kinds of flame height adjusters: hand, thumbnail and screwdriver. If you have a screwdriver flame height adjuster, you will need to use a slotted screwdriver to turn the adjuster.
Hold the lighter away from your face. On the bottom of the lighter there is a refill valve. Push down on the valve with a screwdriver to let the compressed air out. You will know all the air has escaped when you no longer hear a hissing sound.
Turn the lighter upside down, so the flame end is facing the ground. Insert the stem of the clean butane fuel refill at 45 psi pressure into the refill valve and press down.
Hold the refill can in this position for five seconds.
Remove the stem of the refill can from the refill valve, and tap down on the valve once with a screwdriver to force out the remaining air.
Wait three to four minutes to let the gas reach room temperature before attempting to use the lighter again.
Turn the flame adjuster counterclockwise when you are ready to use the lighter again.
good luck

Dunill lighter - how do I fill it with butane?

  1. Ignore that other load of tosh.
  2. Do not refill your lighter immediately after using it. You should allow enough time for the lighter to cool off.
  3. The flame height adjuster on the bottom of the lighter should be set to minimum by turning CLOCKWISE with a small screw driver. The smaller, usually Phillips head, screw is for dismantling the lighter and should not be touched. The adjusting screw is a larger screw with a standard (slot) head. Some lighters come with a key to turn the adjusting screw. Some models have an adjusting wheel that requires no screwdriver. Please DO NOT FORCE the adjusting screw. If it is hard to turn in one direction this most likely means that the adjustment screw is already at the (-) or (+) limit. Try turning the other direction.
  4. Push the refilling valve with a screwdriver to let out the air inside until no hissing sound is heard. Hold the lighter away from your face. Air inside the fuel tank prevents butane gas from being injected into the tank and causes the lighter to malfunction.
  5. ALWAYS refill the lighter in an upside down position to avoid injecting air into the lighter.
  6. Shake the butane gas refill can, press the stem of the refill can directly onto the refill valve on the bottom of the lighter. Keep them in a straight position and let the gas go into the lighter for about 5 seconds. Repeat for a shorter period if needed.
  7. Allow 3-4 minutes to let gas and lighter components reach room temperature.
  8. Turn the flame adjuster counter clockwise to reach the desired flame height.
  9. Hold the lighter away from your face and body and ignite it carefully. If there is no flame, repeat the refilling process.

  10. If you experience gas leakage with a hissing sound while refilling the lighter, either you are not holding the lighter and gas can in a straight position or the stem of the gas can is not suitable for the lighter. In this case you need to use an adaptor which is usually supplied with the gas can.
  11. Premium butane is required to ensure optimum performance of your lighter. Lighters require the cleanest butane available at a pressure of 45 psi. Recommended using Premium Triple Refined Butane Gas that are packaged in 10-13 oz. cans with a metal fill tip nozzle. Non-premium butane with plastic fill tip nozzles are not recommended as they may cause inconsistent ignition and performance. Impurity of the gas can cause clogging of the burner valve or malfunctioning.

WARNING: PLEASE, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR LIGHTER AWAY FROM THE REACH OF CHILDREN. USE COMMON SENSE IN HANDLING YOUR LIGHTER.

Troubleshooting: If you are having problems with your lighter, make sure that:

You are holding the lighter upside down while refilling. If you did not hold the lighter upside down, there will be air inside the butane tank. You will need to let the air out and try refilling again.

The flame height is properly adjusted.

You are not using cheap or incorrect fuel.

There is no dirt or debris in the lighter. Try blowing forcefully into the top part of the unlit lighter.
