Question about The Computers & Internet

Open Question

My camera SD card is suddenly not recognised in my windows 10 laptop?

It has worked okay for months now doesn't appear in the drives. It is recognised perfectly well in my husband's laptop, so not the card. There are no yellow exclamation marks in device manager. How can I get it working? Fixed! I found the SD card driver was missing. Couldn't find it online from a reliable site, but turning off the laptop, removing the power source, holding down the power key for 5 secs and then turning it back on reinstalled the driver. Thanks for your comments, phew!

SOURCE: dimension 4600 cd/dvd drives not responding

Try uninstalling them in devive manager then rebooting and see
if they are reinstalled automaticaly as drivers should be in xp already.

Just right click on them and select uninstall.

If that doesnt work then try update drivers and let xp search online for them.

Failing that then try changing the cable thats attatched to the motherboard.

Hope that helps? :)

When i put the memory card in, it says not supported card

Did the card work in the camera before? If it did and suddenly stopped working, it is possible that the card became corrupted. One possible way to fix this is to format the card. If you search through the menu or setup screens in your camera, there should be an option called "Format" which will erase all the data on the memory card. This is basically like a reset button, clearing the card.

Alternatively, if you cannot find the "Format" selection on your camera, you can insert the card into your computer and format it from there. On a Windows computer, in My Computer, just right click the SD card when it appears, and select format, then okay. For Macs, Cntl + click on the SD card after you insert it, and format. Hopefully this will work. If it doesn't, it's likely that your card has died and it's time to replace it.

Laptop running Windows7 previously mounted Nikon D70 (camera) as Mass Storage Device but, stopped recognising it. Camera sees laptop?

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Nikon Transfer.

Sigma 4in1 card reader not working

Try a different / all other USB ports on the computer, and if possible, a different computer if no USB port on your computer works with it. If it still doesn't see the drive, the drive is probably not working. If it does see the device, but is asking for drivers, provide a disk with drivers that came with the reader - or check the Sigma web site for drivers that work with you OS (Windows, Mac, etc.), download and install / extract.

If it sees the device, but doesn't see the memory card, the reader may not recognize the newer, larger capacity memory cards. SD cards are smaller than 4GB in capacity, and SDHC cards are 4GB and larger. Make sure that if you're trying to read an SDHC card that the reader SPECIFICALLY says it works with SDHC cards. Most SD readers can NOT be upgraded with firmware to be able to read SDHC cards - a new SDHC reader is required.

Good luck!

    • 1 If your aim is to repair a corrupted SD card so that you can use it to store files then proceed to step #2.
If your aim is to recover the files on the SD card without erasing them, proceed to step #5.
    • 2 Insert the SD card into a digital camera card slot and choose to format your card. If this doesn't work then move on to the next step...

In theory a card reader should enable you to see SD card as a drive.

Hi!

Have you inserted a new SD card? If this is already a used one, you can try to reformat it and then test with the Pocket camera again.

With the issue on the device recognition on your Windows PC, you should make sure that the correct driver is installed.

Will wait for your reply.

Sd Card reader not recognising SDHC cards

When You Insert your SD card into the internal card reader, then the SD card is not recognised by the system and the SD card drive doesn't show there. The problem can be because of driver issue, system issue and device issue.
To fix the problem you need to go at device manager if there is a yelllow sign in SD card controller, the problem is most probably caused by a driver issue. Then you need to update the driver. You can also download the driver for your card reader.
Also, check if your SD Card is broken. You can also check it into different devices port.
If it is detected then you can backup of your data.

If the problem not resolved by any means and you require you SD Card data then I will suggest you read - https://www.stellarinfo.co.in/services/removable-media-recovery.php
