Not that you are aware of. I would leave it, it's not hurting anything and you only risk damaging the coil.

You can use any descaling spray, be sure not to bend the fins and rinse well with water. Be certain to shut unit off first.

I'm certain you are referring to spots on your condensing coil. These are from someone putting coil cleaner on it and not rinsing it well enough. I see it everday and no they will not come off.

How do I clean the Rainmate?

Twist of stem from bottom, if excessive calcium or mineral deposits you can soak in vinegar. Keep hole in stem clean. Do not use harsh chemicals on any rainbow products it will compromise the materials. Vinegar should work.

Unclog personal humidifier doesn't work

If this is an ultrasonic humidifier, in the bottom of the humidifier is a little disk that vibrates to turn water to vapor. This gets covered in mineral deposits and won't vibrate properly. They usually suggest something like vinegar to clean it. I found that this didn't work for me. What did work was cleaning it with my Waterpic on the highest setting. It chipped away the deposits and allowed it to work. HOWEVER, once you get it running again, buy the slant fin mineral absorption pads to keep it running. If you have mineral-rich water like me, you'll go through them quickly, but you also won't have white deposits on your walls anymore.

You may have Hard water in your area (a lot of mineral content). This has happened to me before. You could try using distilled water or bottled water brought in from somewhere else. It is the mineral deposits that are causing the film on everything. I hope this helps.

Need to access inside of Carrier air conditioner.

After removing the cover and filter, you should be able to see the fins for cleaning. If there is styrofoam in front of the coil, it should not be there for proper operation.
