What are the details for my guitar?

Your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA on April 22nd, 1981.

It is probably the colour known as tobacco sunburst, and would be worth about US$2500 - $3500 depending on condition and the buyer.

Hello...i have a black gibson les paul custom. Serial number 00117886. what year is it and would this be considered a black beauty? any idea of value too?

The term 'Black Beauty' has been well overused by now. It was originally the 1957 black Les Paul Custom model, but by now is any black Les Paul Custom. In addition Gibson themselves are cashing in by doing reissues, finished to look older.

So if it is a black Les Paul Custom, then yes, it is a Black Beauty, according to someone somewhere. On top of that, Gibson has reused serial numbers, in different years for different models.

If the serial number is stamped on the headstock with 'Made In USA' the guitar was made at the Kalamazoo or Nashville Plant, in 1976.

Those guitars are worth US$3000-4000 depending on condition.

Otherwise it was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, on January 11th, 2007.

Those newer reissue guitars sell for similar prices.

What Epiphone model did I purchase?

Sounds like perhaps a Les Paul Special II, but more detail is needed to say for sure. There was a lot of variation in their Les Paul models. Posting a photo of both sides and the headstock is best.

-Has the guitar any binding, and what colour?
-Is the back of the guitar white or all black?
-Exactly what is on the front of the headstock, 'Epiphone', the 4-diamond logo, anything else?

I need documentation to set neck adjustment and intonation for a Gibson ES-359 custom. It doesn't seem that Gibson has anything readily available.

Intonation is easy if you have an electronic tuner, and instructions for a Les Paul style guitar will be close enough. Same with neck adjustment, if it is a set neck, use the Les Paul info. If a bolt on neck, everything but the neck angle is still relevant.

Les paul custom missing gold plate on ends. came with grungy fringerprint on gold pickup case, just outside the vynal protector edges. tried removing grunge with spit and soft cotton cloth; wiping very...

Depending on what the plate is made of the fix might be different. OFTEN the plastic covers really use a paint and one could repaint, however it would be hard to get as goo a finish as the original ones.

If the item is metal you could take it to a plating company to have it replated. RReal gold plating is usually only about 3 atoms thick.
