HDMI is theoreticly better, and eiser to hook up. Reason being is that HDMI supports the very highest resolution standard there is...

No, but you do have to select HDMI output in the settings in the PS3 menu and make sure the TV is switched to the correct HDMI input ( Whatever one you plugged your PS3 into)

Your PS3 should detect when you set up a HDMI connection then just follow the onscreen instructions. If it does'nt unplug the HDMI cable and use the scart cable. Then unplug the scart cable and plug in the HDMI cable your PS3 should detect this HDMI cable and it will notify you on screen.
