You need to have a driver to install the lan card in your computer. Can you tell the model or your lan card so that we could find a driver for you?

Yes its plug & play device, actually your system can detect such device like your new LAN card. The device is still on your Device Manager but not totally working, need to install first its software to run that new LAN Card.
If you don't what kind of your new LAN card, just install a program that identify the name & model of your LAN card device. Here is the link to install that freeware software www.astra32.com run this program to diagnose the system and identify of your new LAN card device. Good luck!

I dont have a local area icon on my optiplex gx 520

check in the device manager for network adapters, it may need the drivers installing.
right click the my computer icon, select properties, click the hardware tab, then on device manager.
under the network adapters your card should be listed, if there is a yellow triangle you will need to reinstall the driver, check the dell website for the drivers.

hope this helps

My xp network card is not working some reason plz

There can be a problem with the local area connection, the driver, or it's just the network card that it doesn't work, for this i'll need to see what kind of windows do you have and try to disable and re-enable the local area connection (LAN).
After you do that try to see if it works, if it doesn't try to uninstall the card and re-install it, but to give you the instructions i'll need to know what kind of windows do you have...

No network connection for windows xp

Hello kenji, hi, it would really help if you could add more information about the no connection problem, anyway there are several reason why you have no connection;
  1. Bad Lan card, or built in lan port,
  2. Lan card device driver not properly installed, check your driver CD.
  3. loose lan cable. check using a lan cable tester device.
  4. bad router or router setup.
  5. bad dsl or modem setup.
  6. bad telephone connection. check also telephone cable.
  7. no internet service, call your ISP.
  8. if you are using a wireless lan card, check the device.
  9. bad Operating system installation.
  10. check your connectivity setup, is it enabled?
Go through each from one to ten, see which one is the fault.

Create a local area network

you can get a HP x175 printserver. (not expensive.) and connected it between the printer and the router. that way you don't have to have the desktop on all the time.

I DONT HAVE LOCAL AREA CONNECTION in network connection

You can download the latest lan card driver from their website, usually the drivers that are on the cd are not updated.

You can also install a separate lan card on your computer or you can also buy usb to lan adapter that you can insert on your usb drive, you can google USB TO LAN ADAPTER.
