Usually, you just press ALT-PrintScreen buttons on the keyboard. Normally the PrintScreen button is in the upper right corner of the keyboard and may say PrnScn. Here's a link to HP support for that model: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-elitebook-8440p-notebook-pc/4095872/product-info

How do I screen shot from my hp elitebook if I am running windows vista?

You need to press PrtScr or Print Screen button to capture the screen to the clip board. I believe on your laptop you need to hold the fn key down to select it. On the bottom left of the keyboard is a key that has fn on it. Any key on your keyboard that has a second function will need the fn key to access this second key function. PrtScr button should be on the top row right hand side of the keyboard.

Hold down the fn key and press the PrtScr key and then you can paste it into a document or paint or whatever. The PrintScreen function works in versions of windows I have ever used, from Windows 3.11 for workgroups to Windows 8.

Probook 4310s print screen alternative button on american keyboard

If your HP laptop is a wide screen with a full size keyboard and separate numbet keypad then the Prt Scr key also doubles up as the Home key it is located on the top row of keys on the Number keypad.
If your HP laptop is a standard laptop keyboard then the Prt Scr key also doubles as the Scroll key and it is next to the F12 key.

My print screen button doesn't work on my dv9000 and i have tried EVERYTHING

On my HP Pavilion DV9500 with Win7 64 bit (laptop was new in 2007 and had Vista), I have the same problem, and I press FN-insert/scroll key and this works as the print screen button. That's the function key together with the insert key, which is 2 buttons to the left of the print screen key.

I have a HP laptop I like to printscrren couple of page How can I do it please !

On a laptop, the print screen button is designated by "prt sc" or "prt scn" -- look for a button in the upper right portion of your keyboard. You will need to press and hold the the Function (usually "fn") key then tap (press and release) the button with the designation for print screen on it. This takes a "snapshot" of whatever is on your entire screen and temporarily saves it to the clipboard (like a "copy" does when you copy and paste something). If you wish to just capture the active window, hold the Function key, hold the alt key, then tap the print screen key. This only works on some laptops, not all. The easiest way to get to the picture you just created is to open the program Paint. Once open, press and hold ctrl (control) and tap "v" - this will paste the snapshot of the screen or window. You can crop, circle things, etc in Paint, then save the file or print it.

Where is the print screen on my laptop HP Pavillion DV7?! I can't seem to find it!!!

If you mean the "print screen" hot key, most computers have two keys to hold down to capture the screen image that can then be "pasted" onto an image processing program. Usually "fn" or "shift" and one other key usually marked with "Prnt Scrn".

If you're talking about printing a document or photo, there isn't a "print screen". You have to be in a program...WORD, PhotoShop, etc...and use the "print" function accessed via the "file" menu at the upper left edge of the toolbar.
