Question about Vizio Televison & Video
I have a 60" Vizio that's about 4 years old. It turns off on its own every few minutes. I did replace the power supply and main board. This fixed the problem for a couple months. Now it is doing it again. Any suggestions?

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.
Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.
1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

On LCD Pay particular attention at inverter and power board, power board can be inspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with a multimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need to read voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

Logic Control D Board got nothing to do with this problem. This is your main power supply gone bad(usually not the sub power supply). I just repaired my VIZIO by replacing main power supply. Just remove back cover and your board will be right in the middle of the screen. Just get board part/serial # and google it. My best price was through eBay(around $100). Everything is fine now.

SOURCE: I will start from the beginning. Back in Sept. my vizio tv would just randomly turn off here and there, but would always turn back on. Mid october the tv randomly turned off and never turned back on.
Claim lightning damage, put old boards back in it, sell new boards on ebay while a shop fixes the set for free (minus deductible paid for by selling ebay boards). Tada, repaired!
Or just sell the panel on ebay and buy another tv. Don't break the panel shipping it.

SOURCE: I have a Vizio E422VA that will get to the Vizio logo screen, hold for about 1 minute then power off with the power light blinking for about 2 minutes. I have replaced the main board, power supply boa
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Testimonial: "The blink code does not apply for this model. It seems more of a firmware issue. Someone suggested the 30 seconds reset multiple time which seem to do something because now the tv powers on and goes to the Vizio logo screen and just sits there. After about 2 minutes, it power cycles. I currently have an Ethernet cable and a blu ray connected to it to see if it detects any incoming signals. So far nothing."
