SOURCE: Having problems applying colors to walls.

Was told it has to do with the graphics card - changed from Nvidia 6000 series card (with latest drivers, they did not help) to ATI Radon 1850 Pro, problem wnet away but still having issue painting surfaces, turns out you cant make a column by making a very thick wall as the two sides that are based on the thickness of the wall will not maintain their color between saves and helicopter 3d flyarounds - what a pain to figure this out - good luck. Customer support was helpfull in the first case, but disapointing how difficult simple task are with this sw package, and how it blanks the screen all the time when laying a foundation, you have to work blindly a lot - totally unacceptable for this cost of a package!!

SOURCE: My newly tiled shower(app.2 yrs.

You will need to clean as much of the old caulking from joints that you can, After scraping old caulking out then wash with cleaner such as soft scrub and rinse thororghly. Let dry and wipe any residue with clean cloth.
The best all around tub and tile caulk and adhesive that I've found is called polyseamseal. It comes in almond which is pretty much the same as other caulks bone or beige. It applies easily and you can wipe off excess with fingertip as it is a latex base product.
What I do is apply as thin a bead as you need and wipe with damp fingertip, cleaning excess from fingers often. Continue wiping till you are satisfied with joint. VERY IMPORTANT: Keep completly dry for 24 hours. It will skin over in a couple of hours but it really needs the full drying time.
After it is dry there will be a light film around joint, use damp rag to wipe this film clean. It's not unusual for it to have a slight film on it more than once so don't worry about it.
I have been using this product for 30 years and if used right it has always made my customers happy. I hope this helps you. Thanks

SOURCE: What color cloak should I wear for a superman's costume? Red or blue?

I studied costuming and the rule of thumb (even when dressing in 'party' costumes) is to begin by thinking, what is the iconic / symbolic thing that comes to mind when you think of a character or era? Think of Christopher Reeves 'Superman' and you will instantly see the red cape. My husband is is fastidious about comics and costumes, so I agree there are variants in other comics and movies. The iconic Superman however, in the minds eye, wears a red cape.

How to clean glass tile after installation

Follow the steps

1.Rub the grout haze with a dry cheesecloth. Shake out the cheesecloth as you work to remove grout dust.
2.Scrub the glass tile with a nylon bristle brush and warm water if cheesecloth doesn't work. Wipe away the loosened grout haze with a sponge as you work. Avoid using the nylon bristle brush in the grout lines of recent tile installations, as the stiff bristles may loosen or cause damage to the grout.
3.Mix a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar to 1 gallon warm water if haze remains on your tile. Scrub the grout haze with a nylon bristle brush dipped in the solution, wiping away the loosened grout haze as you work. Continued use of vinegar can weaken grout, so only use this method to remove haze and not for regular cleaning of glass tile surfaces.
4.Apply a commercial tile cleaner to the glass tile if the previous methods fail. Scrub the haze gently with a nylon scrubbing pad, letting the cleaner do most of the work. Rinse off the tile cleaner with clean water. Use a tile cleaner that is labeled for use on glass tile.
5.Remove the grout haze with a tile cleaner containing phosphoric acid or sulfamic acid as a final resort. These acids are safe to use on glass tile and are highly effective for removing grout haze. Avoid using phosphoric acid on colored grout, as the acid may cause bleaching or discoloration. Read the labels of these products carefully before using, and follow all manufacturer's safety precautions.

How to Grout ceramic tile to shower base

Don't use grout! Instead use silicone caulk that matches your grout color as close as possible. Never grout where tile meets at a 90 degree angle it will crack.

I had a shower total replacement less than two years ago. Company out of business now. Shower grout has cracked bad at base and in corner all the way down. I need to re-grout. Problem is the gap in corner...

Use a good quality bath and tub caulk applied to the deeper parts of the gap. Do not fill all the way out to the top of the gap with the caulk. When the caulk is dry, then apply the same color grout over the caulk.

Best way to clean grout

I have used a solution of Baking soda and water....with a toothbrush but it only gets some of the dirt up.

The best thing to do is redo the grout and then SEAL it. The sealer seems to keep the grout looking like it's natural color for much longer.

My bathroom needs to be done right now and I was just starting to think about this.

I might try to do it myself first and if that small area doesn't go well then I might need to call my tile guy.

You should never clean the grout with a cleaner. That's what my tile guy said. Just water.

Chemicals turn the color quicker

Why does some lipstick stay on better when sipping out of a glass than others?

Ever since the idea of tinting the lips as a cosmetic enhancement came into fashion (a practice which has been fashionable for over 6,000 years) women have been looking for ways to make the effects last longer. The use of berries and fruits to stain the lips gave way to cosmetic preparations using wax and whale blubber, and even more complex chemical preparations. Each of these has been intended to make the lip color last longer.
The basic formulas of today's lipsticks are the same. Emollient ingredients are combined with a waxy base and dyes to provide tint to the lips. In most cases, the lipstick sits on the surface of the lips and is gradually rubbed off by the friction against glassware, eating utensils or kissing and other actions.
Depending on the ratio of the ingredients we can find lipsticks that resist wear and last longer, this either comes as a result of ingredients that act as sealants on the lips, or else act as stains and literally dye the lips a darker color to create a lasting effect.
Today, we see newer and exciting formulas promising 8, 10 and 12-hour wear from lipstick applications. We have promises of lipsticks that won't rub off, and won't lose their shine. These lip colors can vary widely in prices, and the results may not be to your liking. If this is the case, here are some simple tips to make your lip color last longer, whatever the brand:
• Use a base coat of foundation makeup on your lips before applying your lip color. This not only helps you to get a clearer, more vivid color result from the lipstick, but in cases where you won't have to eat or drink, can result in longer lasting color.
• In situations where you know you will be eating and drinking (such as a dinner date or cocktail party) apply your lipstick and blot it, then use a clear lip gloss or petroleum jelly as a topcoat in order to act as a buffer between your lip color and the surface of the glassware or tableware.
• After applying your lip color, use a translucent face powder on your lips to set the product. This will create a matte finish to the lips, so it will counteract the effect of "glossy" lip color, but it will help your lip color to last through a lot of wear

Grout in bathroom & shower is cracking, probably due to movement. What is best way to remedy this? Silicone caulking?

If it were me,I would replace the grout, but that's my job.lol
Silicone caulking will just leave an ugly mess if it's cracking in random (large)areas, however,it would keep the water out.
If you have lots of ambition you could try to patch with grout. You would need to purchase the same color of course. Mix up small batches at a time and use your finger tip to spread the new grout into the bad spots or use a small putty knife for spreading it. I wouldn't spend the money on professional tools unless you plan on doing this full time.
Even a piece of cardboard could be used to spread it.
Follow the directions on the grout package, just using smaller amounts. Apply grout, let sit for about 10 minutes, and then wipe up excess with a damp sponge. Make sure you only make one pass at a time and do it gently...rinse sponge between wipes.

I need a cleaner for my tile floors which model is best for tile? I am 79 years young and I need something that I can handle. There are so many models that I am confused as to which one to buy.

1st what type of tile do you have? many people use the word tile genericaly...ie: porecline tile?, ceramic tile, natural stone (which is porous), in general ceramic and porceline tiles do not need any protective finish maintenance with chemicals, that said ...no accumulation of foreign wax buildup and dirt should be present...so a mild mixture with white vinegar and cold water will clean your tiles very niceley and also is a bacteria sanitizer ( if you have food spills and any pets in the house). A good self squeeze sponge mop and pail is all you really need.....save your money and do not be fooled or swayed by such nonsense ...also once the floors have been washed and dried...you can then apply a good quality grout sealer with a hand sponge, and let it dry for 3 hours and then apply a 2nd coat overnight. This will help to keep any colorful penetrating fluids from affecting the color of your grout.
