Dec 30, 2008 - In my case, the monitor was fine for the first two months. But then started making a buzzing noise... 1) when on, 2) worse when .... my Samsung TV ismaking high pitched noises even if its turned off. I will NEVER EVER EVER ...
In my opinion, it's almost certainly the radio. Even when turned off, it is still alive managing a few other things (like chimes) until you exit the vehicle, and I suspect that part of the radio is faulty.
sounds like the motor that pulls the tape mechanism is probably about to give problems and is getting electronically noisy. The cb may need to hooked up some where else to power so you get away from dirty power as well as maybe move the cb farther away from the tape player. hope this helps.
A high pitch noise comes normally from blown capacitors from the motherboard or the power supply. But mostly high pitch noise comes from power supplies.
You could have to open up the power supply to see them.
Verify if it is the case and replace the faulty part.
never had that problem with my GS400 but on my 95 maxima, i used to have that same high pitch squealing noise... i used some belt dressing that i got from R & S Strauss for a few dollars and sprayed it on my belts and pulleys that ran around the alternator, compressor, etc. and never heard the noise again. hope your problem is as simple and cheap to fix as mine was
A high pitch sound while connected in the house is either a problem with the reciever or you are picking up interference from somewhere. However, the high pitched noise when using the unit in a car (especially through an aux. connection), is caused by the alternator of the car. This can be eliminated by connecting a filter in-line with the aux wire (much like filters are installed on the radio power line). The filter is essentially a low pass filter that filters out noise above a certain frequency. You may have to get creative and modify your aux. input cable (i.e. - splice it into the aux cable) in order for this to work, or you can just turn the volume down a bit - it should be less noticeable at lower volumes.
I was ready to mention the car's alternator but you say the noise is there if the ignition is on or off. What type voltage adapter are you using? It sounds as if it's the culprit. If it's an inverter I could understand the noise being generated. Have you tried earthing ALL the components involved? Earthing problems can cause some mighty weird things to happen.\
Are you sure nothing else in the car is switched on? eg. another radio or something with an inbuilt oscillator. Try running the power for the adapter straight from the battery and put a noise filter in line.
Are you turning the engine off but leaving the ignition switched on? Doing this can cause a noise from the fuel pump. Oh and make sure the antenna is correctly earthed.
Apart from that, I'm stumped
