Good day,I Candro Mabuza working as a riggerheavy lifting, after working for along time without rest i started feeling pains then i went to see a doctor and he said its a hernia, what causes hernia?

incorrect method of lifting heavy weights
a hernia is where the stomach lining is torn and the gut is allowed to come out through the tear
they can be in any part of the lining and be in various degrees of pain
The worst is a strangulated hernia where the bowel comes out through the tear and is cut off by the lining resulting in a serious situation requiring immediate surgery or *****
They are all repairable by a surgeon so don't delay in getting the operation

Belly button swelling problem?

get it checked by a doctor - If button is sticking out it may be an abdominal hernia.
If it is - part of the bowel can get pinched in the hernia tear and if this occurs you need to be rushed to emergency in a hospital !

How is it fixed if it is this.
By a painful operation to sew a mesh in between the muscle and skin layers of your belly ! (only painful post operation for about 2 weeks - no heavy lifting )

Good day my name is michael ,my wife had a problem with her belly button it keeps swelling & when the pain starts ,she cant even bent.what can i get her for pain/any advice please?

if it is an abdominal hernia and she is in pain her bowel might be being pinched . If her bowel is pinched it is an urgent life threatening condition ! Seek medical assistance

I am speaking from my own experience from having a belly button that was sticking out (Umbilical hernia) that I was advised to get an operation to fix the hernia and that there was a risk of having my bowel getting pinched which is life threatening !
Had a hernia operation to fix it. Was also there when I was a baby but it sealed up but came back later in life .

Advise getting an ambulance if the pain is intense.

I I have a parastomal hernia. Will losing weight hel make this hernia smaller?

by making an incision ( read tear ) in the muscle, a potential weakness is created
A parastomal hernia can occur when the edges of the stoma come away from the muscle , allowing the abdominal contents ( usually a section of the bowel) to bulge out
the fix is a surgical process to fit a mesh over the tear to hold the bowel or protrusion in place
the danger to you is that if left untreated it could become strangulated in which case the bowel after the hernia dies resulting in a serious operation or ***** of the patient
loosing weight will not put the protrusion back in place.

as fixya site is not a medical forum, this should be discussed with your doctor or bowel specialist and their advice be heeded

How to treat hematomas on the legs

Depending on the severity and location of the hematoma, a veterinarian may treat it differently. A small hematoma can be drained, but there is a high risk that they will fill again within a few days. In many cases, surgery under anesthesia may be recommended to drain the blood, remove any clots, and suture across the area so that there is no space for blood to gather. A drain may be implanted for a couple weeks to keep the area from filling again. With prompt treatment, a hematoma is unlikely to return and there should be little damage.

I had two operations the first was to remove a hernia, but the mesh the put in broke and the operation had to be redun, I woke with a bad kidney infection but no one paid attention to this I had to w

Although I am no expert on this matter I have heard cases like yours. In some cases the mesh that they use has failed and has been recalled by the manufacture, Check in on this. Most hernia operations go well but some don't, removing the mesh and having it replaced might be a solution but if you have an option of doing it in another facility you might look into that. Also check into the doctor that performed the hernia operation to see if that is one of his normal procedures or something new for them. Not sure which country your are in but I assume it is one with socialized medicine practices which in most cases being a public patient should not matter for quality of care. If you are in pay for services country then not having insurance the doctor takes a major price cut to perform the services for the government and might in some cases not give much care on how good their patient care is. Check around do some research on hernia complications and maybe seek a second opinion on options for your case.

How long would it take to recover after surgery for inguinal hernia? My dad has been scheduled to undergo repair surgery for inguinal hernia. While the doctors have given us their opinion on how long...

Surgical procedures to repair Hernia these days could be completed in less than an hour or two in cases of inguinal hernia. Just as with any surgical procedure, the body needs time to heal after a hernia surgery. In most cases, patients are allowed to leave the hospital on the same day as the procedure unless there are any unexpected complications. Recovery process is gradual. If your work does not involve much physical exertions, you could be back at work in 10 days or less. But make sure you do it in consultation with your doctor. Gentle exercises are advised as part of the recovery process. But you'd have to be patient until your body fully recovers from the surgery before you decide to start working out or unduly exerting yourself.
