My 16poland chainsaw needs ideling adjusted it wont stay running

If it can be adjusted there will be a idler screw located on the carberator. Get it running and while you try to keep it running start adjusting the screw. I believe the turning it in increases the idle.

Carberator adjusting

Many new units have a very limited adjustment possibility. This is due to EPA regulations. If the saw is hard to start, it may need to be richened up a little. Your dealer should have proper tool to adjust.

Some Husqvarna carbs require a special screwdriver to adjust them, some just use a mall flat head tuning screwriver.

Screw both H and L screws in. Then turn them out anticlockwise the following amounts to return them to standard.

Some equipment like blowers and strimmers are:-

New carberater and a mechanic needed!

Even if you do it yourself you need to adjust it.I would get another mechanic to look at it also.Have you tried cleaners? 1 type you add to the gas the other you remove the air bonet and spray into the top of carb while running (have someone press on the gas lightly so you don't stall.Have you tried to increase the idle via the adjusting screw? has the auto choke been tested..adjusted? Good Luck.

Engine cant run with air filter fitted, I have cleaned it .but the problem remains the same

This means that you are over fueling. There is more fuel going to the carberator than air. By removing the air filter you are allowing more air flow into the carberator, which is allowing the engine to run right. Natural gas and propane generator must have no more than 11 inches of water column. Gasoline engines should have no more than 3.5 psi out of the electric pump. If gasoline is gravity fed, then this means that you need to rebuild the carberator or purchase a new carberator, but try to adjust the flow valve on the bowl of carberator first.

Need carberator settings for a sears craftsman chainsaw model#358.354831

You don't want to tighten them down just turn them in until the are just snug and then turn them out.
Start with the low at 2 full turns out and the high at about 1 full turn out. Start the saw and let it idle adjust the low idle to where it runs smooth. Adjust the high until the saw runs as much rpm as you can get at w.o.t. (Wide Open Throttle).
