What does the 12volt AGM button mean on 80amp battery charger by Schumacher

For charging AGM batteries.

AGM (Absorbed glass mat)[edit] AGM batteries differ from flooded lead acid batteries in that the electrolyte is held in the glass mats, as opposed to freely flooding the plates. Very thin glass fibers are woven into a mat to increase surface area enough to hold sufficient electrolyte on the cells for their lifetime.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Gel, AGM, and Flooded / Wet Lead Acid Deep Cycle Batteries?
Generally, gel and AGM batteries have about 20% less capacity, cost about two times more, and have a shorter cycle life than comparable flooded lead acid batteries. However, Gel and AGM batteries do not need watering, are safer (no acid spilling out), can be placed in a variety of positions, have a slower self-discharge characteristic and are more efficient in charging and discharging than flooded batteries. Gel batteries are more suitable for deep cycling applications whereas AGM batteries are more for light cycling and some engine-starting applications.

I WANT TO CONVERT MY SCOOTER FROM 36 VOLT TO 12 VOLT HOW CAN i CHANGE MY 36 V. CHARGER TP 12 VOLT

This will need a motor change as well which is a pity and pressume that you have looked into that already.
Simply if you already have 3 12volt batteries you can charge in series and use just one in scooter or you can purchase a ordinary car 12volt charger for a cheap price an there are advanced units that give good deep charge automatically

Can I over charge my mobility scooter batteries with a pihsiang charger the green light wont go solid

Take the batteries to a battery shop or a Battery plus store have them load test the batteries. Deep cycle batteries are different from normal batteries. Normal batteries are design for max output for short periods of time, Deep cycle batteries are designed for a modest output for long periods of time. My batteries are rated at 35 amp/hr.. Basically a load tester places a load in amps [cranking amps] on the battery. How many cranking amps depends on if there is a voltage drop when you apply the load. I can apply 480 cranking amps before my voltage drops. What i do is load test a new battery of the same type to find out the cranking amps. You will not find a cranking amp rating for aq deep cycle battery but retail places have load testers that read in cranking amps. Use only deep cycle batteries in scooters, garden tracker batteries will not last. If the batteries are ok test the charger. A CHARGER KNOWS THE CHARGE OF THE BATTERY BY BATTERY RESISTANCE. As a battery charges its resistance get bigger. Once the battery reaches a preset resistance the light goes solid. You can have the charger checked by a battery shop. To properly charge a battery a charger will put out 27volts @ 4amps, they can easily test for voltage. Now if the charger is built in there is going to be an external fuse find it, check it. hope this helps

Does it harm a Ryobi 18v lithium battery to leave on Charger?

Lithium-Ion batteries require careful charging and temperature monitoring while in the charger. Ryobi's Charging station monitors many functions and shuts off when the battery has gone through a complete charge. This is indicated by a steady Green light. Once the Charge indicator is a steady green the charger stops charging. With any battery It will slowly discharge and I don’t think the Ryobi will maintain a battery that is never removed. For example, if after a complete charge cycle if the battery was left there for 2 years and then you went to use it, it would likely be completely discharged. However if the battery charger is unplugged then plugged back in a new charge sequence would start. I lose power at my house about every 6 months or so. Once power is restored a new cycle would start and the charging cycle begins again.
Hope this helps and have a great day.

Does leaving handset in charger shorten battery life

I used to repair pagers for Motorola and back then the biggest problem we had was from bad batteries. Firemen would go on vacation and leave there pagers in the chargers while gone. They would return in a week or two and find that there pagers would not work. The chargers heat the battery while charging and this continued heating after charging would ruin the batteries. New chargers aren't as bad but it is best to cycle your battery. Run it until it needs charging, charge until charged then use until it again needs to be charged. Refrain from unnecessary charging. If you properly cycle a battery it can last for 2 or 3 years before replacing

I shall be leaving my motorhome unused for 5 months , stored undercover. would a trickle charge to the car battery also feed the 2 leisure batteries ? If so , what specification charger should I look for ?...

As a rule,a trickle charge is for a normal car battery and yours are deep cycle...so one may not be enough to charge 2 batteries here..There is a bit of maths you need to do for it...
