There should be a button on the remote control to turn on and off the subtitles. On three of my Samsung products the subtitle button is marked as "subtitle"
Best Regards,
On TV sets subtitles are usually send by the broadcasting company together with the picture and is not optional. Some times on some channels there is no subtitle on the picture, but you can choose to see them through activating a specific page of Tele Text option. Which doesn't seem to be your case. But to be sure contact your cable company!
Good luck!

My Lg was doing the same thing. Every movie we watched had subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. The button was at the bottom of the remote. Once we pressed it, it came up on the screen saying CC/OFF. Also had this happen on same TV with DVD player and had to turn it off with the DVD remote. Subtitles OFF/ON
Hiya, have bought an Alba 26" LCD TV myself today. If you go into the menu and then into subtitles change it from English to Dutch. This should solve the problem. :-)
To switch off sub-titles on Bush 26" HD ReadyTV - the following has just worked for me 19.1.10
1) Select Features on Menu options
2) Switch Analog Subtitle to Off
3) Change Subtitle Type to Hearing Impaired
Often the subtitles are a function of the TV. Check the menus on the TV and turn them off there. Sometimes merely muting and un-muting the TV is all it takes. Other times, you have to go into the settings.
