Question about Pioneer AVIC-F700BT Car GPS Receiver

AVIC-F700BT - sees the ipod touch 3.0 but no sound. Also what type SD card do I need?

Which menu setting? I don't want to appear stupid, but the installer and I spent a half hour poking around all the menus, and we couldn't get any sound. He thought it might be a setting on the iPod but I can't find anything there either.

About the SD card, at Pioneer's site they say 8G max, class 2. Is that correct?

    Thanks for your help.

Is it connected with a special cable like this?

http://www.al-eds.com/product.php?printable=Y&productid=18728

The USB is for controls only - the analog sound(and video) is split off from different pins on the proprietary Apple connector.

You might be able to get by short term connecting a cable from the ipod headphone jack to the front panel of the Avic as well.

HI,

You need to change the menu setting for the sound to play. As far as the SD card is concerned you need to use standard SD card.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

I HAVE A PIONEER AVIC-F700 AND I CAN NOT GET SOUND FROM MY IPOD..

If your avic recognizes the iPod and shows the songs being played, but you can't hear them, do this. Go to main menu, choose settings. Then go to av settings. On av1, make sure it says iPod. When it does, you'll hear the music.

AVIC-F700BT won't work after dealer did some work on it

Have you tried updating the firmware? A new version is available from the Pioneer website. You will need a blank, formatted SD card. Unzip the files from the Pioneer download and copy to the SD card. With the key out of the ignition put the SD card into the unit. Put the key in the ignition and turn to position I to turn on the F700BT. The update takes around 10-15 minutes. Ensure that no unnecessary electrical accessories are on in order to save battery life.

If that fails you may wish to check out www.avic411.com.

Avic-f700Bt doesn't play DVD's

The AVIC-F700BT was not designed to play DVD's. If you wanted that capability you should have purchased the AVIC-F900BT. You can play video on the AVIC-F700BT from your iPod or USB Drive or SD Card or even from one of the AV inputs (mini jack on front or RCA's on the rear of the unit).

How do i hook up my ipod touch to the avic f700bt

You will need an accessory cable, part number CD-IU230V This connects to the back of the unit and then to the iPod or iPhone. Typically the iPod end is fed through to the glove box or some such other handy place.
