Question about Sony Dvcam DSR-PD170 DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

My dsr pd170 lcd view screen is viewing in negative imaging. it seems to be filming fine, but the image quality slowly degrades while filming. Since we work at a camp and film things like talent shows which can be lengthy, this can be a bit of problem when you can no longer view anything. Even through the eye piece nothing is visable. Is this a hardware problem or something I can fix. I've tried to reset the gain and white balance, but that didn't really do much. thanks!

There are some black vertical lines on the left side of the LCD screen of my Canon 1100D/T3 DSLR camera. What could be the reason for this?

The LCD is bad. To verify, take a photo. If there are lines on the photo when viewed on a PC, then it's the image sensor. Otherwise it's the LCD. Only replacement of the LCD or wiring will fix it.

The problem i m having with my camcorder is when i want to record film screen goes blank but i can watch my previous recorded videos

Look in the view finder when recording instead of the screen. if you see the image there then the unit is probably set to look through there. Many of the new units dont' have a full view finder to lens item they actually have a small lcd screen inside the view finder. Check your options for recording.

Also if the view finder is tilted you need to close that before usign the lcd.

The image will not appear simultaneously on the LCD

monitor and the viewfinder. It will appear in the

viewfinder when the LCD monitor is in the lock position,

and it will appear on the LCD monitor when fully
extended.

The image in the viewfinder is now black and white and the LCD screen doesn't work

iam very sorry that you have this problem. When an LCD screen of DSRPD170P stops working it means that you have to get a replacement LCD screen. The replacement requires a qualified technical person. if you have such a person , then here are the details for ordering the LCD screen parts:
A-7078-956-A PD-217 board complete.
8-753-209-13 ACX500ENA
1-517-931-21 Tube fluorescent cold cathode.

Please note that the viewfinder of the DSR PD170 camera is always manufactured and supplied as black and white (not colour) so this is not a fault!

Everthing seems to work, except the camera will not record.

Assume you have Sony DCR-HC20 camcorder and it does not show you live view to record, I hope camcorder is playing back old recorded tapes perfectly with good quality picture on its LCD.
If it is true then your camcorder has ccd imager chip failure and ccd imager needs to be replace to get live view in LCD monitor.
Qualified camera tech will replace ccd imager chip.
Thanks.
