How do i insert a niddle into a singer sew mate machine?

As you're looking at the machine like this, if you look at the top of the needle holder, that is a small, silver screw that comes out to the right. Turn it counter-clockwise to loosen the needle holder and the old needle should slip out. Be sure to insert your new needle with the flat side away from you (toward the back of the machine), until it stops in the holder then tighten the screw again.

Remove thread jammed in bobbin case holder

Just open carefully the front of the machine (attention where everything has to be put back), identify the problem and try to remove the thread. Inspect the inside of the machine and the lower bobbin case for thread that may be tangled . Take it easy and you will fix it ; most of the times you we'll not need professional help. Post back to tell us where the problem was and how you fixed it.

The book on my consew 226r-2 says to adjust the screw to tighten or loosen tension on the bobbin, I can't see a screw, where is it?

It is usually a little tiny screw on what holds the bobbin in and where the thread passes through the bobbin. (The holder...not the metal or plastic bobbin spool of thread...it's sometimes called a shuttle to avoid confussion.) When you tighten or loosen the screw on the bobbin holder it puts more or less pressure on that metal hook the bobbin thread passes through.

Anna had this problem with her Pfaff 332 sewing machine, I do too

I believe that the bobbin case holder has become unlatched, for lack of better terminology. I have one of these machines, and my first experience with one was exactly as you are describing. A friends grandmother brought it to me because it kept breaking needles and wouldn't complete a stitch.Put the bed table in the lowered position, leaving the free arm exposed. Remove your needle, presser foot, and bobbin case, leaving the bobbin door open. Next remove the two screws that hold in the feed plate, and remove the feed plate. Looking down into the bobbin area, manually turn the bobbin case holder. There is a small slot in the top of the bobbin case holder, look for it as you turn. A small latch protruding from the bed plate is supposed to be clipped into that slot, and if the latch is still there, you likely will not be able to rotate the holder into place: This is good news, it means nothing is broken. Loosen the three screws (two silver on the top of the bed plate and one black in the area where the feed plate goes) which hold the bed plate in place, but do not remove them. You should be able to lift the bed enough to get the holder into place, and then set the bed back down and tighten the screws. Reassemble everything, throw in a new needle and see how it goes!

Needle holder assembly came off

If you look carefully you should see a small allen head screw on the needle clamp assembly. There should be a J shaped part which goes into a hole on the bottom of the assembly. Reassemble everything, put the assembly back on the needle bar and tighten the screw with an allen wrench.
