Bobbin is not feeding properly- didn't wind on evenly.

It is important that the bobbin be wound smoothly for the machine to operate properly. First, check that you are threading the machine correctly to wind the bobbin. There is a tensioner for the bobbin winder that helps wind the bobbin smoothly so incorrect threading will cause issues. Also, try to wind your bobbin slower. There is no advantage to winding the bobbin on high speed.

If you continue to have bobbin winding issues, there is a standalone bobbin winder (SideWinder) avlb at JoAnn's or even Amazon for ~$30,. They are electric or battery operated. Be sure to verify your machine bobbins will work on the SideWinder before purchasing as some bobbins are not compatible. The bobbin winder is a handy gadget since multiple bobbins can be wound quickly, plus bobbins can be wound without having to unthread the machine, not to mention reducing the wear and tear on your sewing machine.

How do you wind the bobbin

Most bobbin winding procedures are very generic. There is a small peg on top of the machine and a lever to snap the peg against or the peg itself moves toward a stationery lever. Leave thread on machine like you would begin sewing but u thread the machine. There should be a thread holder of some kind on top to run thread through to hold tension. Wind thread a few times around bobbin and put bobbin on the peg on top of machine. Push lever toward bobbin peg or peg toward lever (whichever moves) and arrow by peg should show which direction thread will wind. Then push pedal and away you go...hope that helps.

How do I engage the bobbin winding gear for Pfaff 7570?

To disengage the needle while winding a bobbin do the following: the handwheel on the right end of the machine has an inner knob. hold the outer rim of the handwheel stationary as you rotate the inner knob counterclockwise. Also make sure the bobbin winding peg is pushed over to the right and the bobbin is seated on the peg.

I have the Brother SE270D and when I was winding the bobbin the thread somehow slipped under the bobbin and was wound around the peg under the bobbin winding area. I thought I could remove the screws and...

You can either take the machine in for repairs or, use another sewing machine (if you have one that uses the same type of bobbin) for bobbin winding or purchase a Sidewinder Bobbin Winder - search the Internet for the best price.

I cant remember how to fill the bobbin with thread :(

Insert the empty bobbin case onto the bobbin winder in the sewing machine.

Step 2 Set the spool of thread onto the thread peg. Use the same thread you want to use on your material to obtain the best finished stitch.

Step 3 Follow the arrows or guides to take the thread from the spool to the empty bobbin.
Step 4 Start the thread around the bobbin in a clockwise direction.

Step 5 Push the small lever against the bobbin spool to hold it in place. This disengages the needle so it won't go up and down while winding the bobbin.

Step 6 Press the foot or knee pedal to start the winding process. Stop when you have enough thread on the bobbin for your project.

Step 7
Cut the thread between the thread spool and the bobbin. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case so you can begin sewing.

Open to clarifications.

Can't seem to wind a bobbin on Singer 7466 .

HI, THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS TO LOOK FOR WHEN YOU ARE WINDING A BOBBIN. FIRST CHECK YOUR THREAD, IS IT ON THE MACHINE GOING IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION. SECOND CHECK TO SEE IF YOU ARE THREADING THE THREAD THRU THE BOBBIN AREA ON TOP OF THE MACHINE CORRECTLY. I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR MACHINE, BUT MOST HOME MACHINES HAVE THE BOBBIN THREADER ON TOP...THIS IS WHERE PART OF THE TENSION NEEDED COMES FROM TO WIND THE BOBBIN. NEXT, DOES YOUR MACHINE REQUIRE YOU TO LOOSEN THE TENSION ON THE WHEEL, OR DOES YOUR MACHINE HAVE YOU MOVING THE BOBBIN POST BEFORE IT WORKS. LASTLY, CHECK HOW YOU ARE ADDING YOUR THREAD TO THE BOBBIN AND PLACING IT ONTO THE BOBBIN HOLDER, IF IT IS NOT CORRECT IT WILL JUST SPIN OFF THE THREAD. I USUALLY LET THE THREAD GLIDE THRU MY FINGERS AT FIRST TO MAKE SURE I HAVE THE CORRECT TENSION. SOME MACHINES HAVE A TENSION SCREW THAT YOU CAN ADJUST THE THREAD TENSION. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A MANUAL FOR YOUR MACHINE, GO TO SINGER AND MOST LIKELY THEY WILL HAVE ONE THAT YOU CAN PURCHASE. I HAD TO BUY ONE ONCE AND IT WAS ABOUT $15.00, MAYBE THERE IS A SITE YOU CAN GET ONE FOR FREE I DON'T REALLY KNOW. HOPE THIS HELPS. JUST A SLIGHT THING NOT CORRECT AND YOUR MACHINE WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY, SO IT MAYBE JUST YOU HAVE SOMETHING BACKWARDS OR YOU NEED TO LOOSEN THE FLYWHEEL OR MOVE THE BOBBIN PEG.

Bobbin won't wind

I also have the 15358. You probably forgot to "lock" the bobbin winder. After you put the bobbin case on it's peg, push the peg to the right until you hear a click. Then after you disengage the clutch, the bobbin will wind.

Wind the Bobbin
For the usual jobs, it is the best to use a medium sized thread.
2. Disengage the flywheel by unscrewing the coupling knob as far as it will go.

3. Place the bobbin on the bobbin winder, and push the bobbin winder to the right.

4. Pull out one of the spool pins and place the spool of thread on it.

5. Pass the thread through the bobbin winder tension discs, as indicated.

6. Wind the end of the thread around the bobbin by hand, in the direction indicated.

7. Wind the bobbin, at a medium speed by pressing lightly with a finger on the spool so as to stretch the thread better and thus fill the bobbin to a maximum. The full bobbin stops automatically.

8. Re-engage the flywheel by tightening the coupling knob.

9. Cut the thread and remove the bobbin from the bobbin winder by pushing the latter to the left.
