Take the lint trap out, and look inside the slot where it goes. You will see a lot of built up lint which will have to be removed so you can slide the trap back down to the bottom.

Remove the lint screen from the GE electric clothes dryer.

Roll the lint from the screen with your hand. If the lint screen is clogged with fabric softener, fill a sink with hot water and add 1 to 2 tsp. dish soap.

Scrub the lint screen with a soft-bristle brush and soapy water. Rinse the lint screen thoroughly and shake off any excess water. Set the lint screen aside to air dry while you clean the dryer exterior.

Dampen a cloth with warm water and wring it out. Wipe over the GE electric dryer exterior to remove any lint, dust or product residue. If the dryer is very dirty, dip the cloth in the soapy water and wipe away any spots.

Wipe the GE clothes dryer with a towel to dry. Replace the lint screen when it's completely dry.

The lint filter does not fit properly in the lint trap. The corner of the filter catches an item of clothing and twists it. I have to check it several times to clear the item away. I assume this...

We have the same model and experience the same thing. The way I fix it is to remove the filter, then with a flash light I look down into the lint trap. You will notice that lint has built up in the track where the lint filter sits. I use a wooden skewer to run along the track and lift out the lent. Hope that helps

I have th lg dlgx3002w dryer. the garments get hung up in the lint filter and tears the garment. the edge of the filter is slightly melted. what causes this and how can i keep this from happening again?

I had the same problem. My LG dryer lint trap did the same thing and I ordered another one for replacement. The new lint trap is not rounded on the batton on the corner below where it got bent up and snagged your clothes. The new one is cut at a slight 45 degree angle. I believe that LG changed the design a little so clothes won't get hung up on that edge. Go to this site and you will see a picture of the replacement part.

We have had a consistent problem with our dryer. The lint filter eats any staps in the dryer. I have found straps from bras, tops, and belts twisted around the lint filter. They get caught on the edge...

Clothing getting caught on lint trap tab. And clothing getting caught between drum and front of dryer

Probably has extra space between drum because the front felt guides on the drum have worn. This can be accessed by removing the front panel.

Clothing gets caught on lint trap

If your dryer is new, it will have warranty a on it. Request a home visit from an authorized technician at no charge to diagnose/document your issue.
Due to fabric damage, once the cause is determined and corrected, contact the manufacturer for a possible compensation for the damaged items. Take pictures and provide receipts.

My GE gas dryer is gets warm but the clothes take hours to dry

Hello there, this could be quite a few things.

The most likely cause is something as simple as a clogged lint trap. I will assume that you have checked this out, but just in case check it one more time and use a flashlight to see if you can spot any lint trapped down a the bottom, below where the lint trap sits.

Secondly, during the summer if you live anywhere where it's humid it will be much much harder for your dryer to do it's job. I was perplexed by this same problem when we moved out here to Minnesota. I thought my dryer was broken for sure, the clothes were warm, the dryer was warm, but the clothes took literally a full day to dry, many many cycles. Is there a chance that this is what you are experiencing?

Lastly, and the most complicated of the bunch, could be a shorted element. If that's the case you could replace it yourself if you are comfortable taking apart the dryer. If it's a newer GE dryer though it's probably still under warranty and they will take care of it for you. I would check with GE in regards to the warranty status. Their phone number is 1-800-626-2005

If none of these things work, please reply (if you can reply within the next 20 minutes or so it will assure that I am the one who continues with the question) and in your reply please include the actual model number of the dryer if you could.

Our dryer lint trap won't go down all the way and is catching our clothes -- ruining spaghettis straps, bras, etc., twisting everything and catching our clothes on the corner of the trap.

It may be backwards. But the first thing I would look for is if there is lint caught in the shute keeping it from going down all the way. If it is a newer model there is a lint screen sensor that may have come unattached and keeping the lint screen from going down all the way. Good luck.
