I would replace the evaporator fan, this fan problem is hard to diagnose because the fan will spin but not fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and the refrigerator. The minimum cost to repair/replace is around $300.00

Water in refridgerator

Have a look inside fridge compartment (especially the "roof", if it's a top-mount freezer) & see if you can see any ice build-up (look inside vents that allow cold air into fridge from freezer section. Also, if top-mount freezer, look inside the freezer compartment for ice build-up on "floor", inside vents, or on back wall. These symptoms, combined with water dripping from lots of the "roof" of fridge section (in a top-mount freezer model), can mean several different problems, so best to re-post with more info/symptoms included.
If there's no ice build-up (& the dividing area between fridge & freezer sections isn't particularly cold, which otherwise might indicate hidden ice build-up), it can be as simple as a plugged or obstructed drain tube, which is VERY COMMON. Easiest solution for this latter problem is to use a flexible plastic tube (think similar type as attached to aquarium air pumps), stuff it into drain hole, and blow on the other end. Sometimes you have to blow quite hard to clear an obstruction or complete blockage. If you can't clear the drain tube, it's likely a different problem. Again, a re-post with more info/symptoms will help narrow it down.

Hotpoint RLA51 fridge keeps freezing up

A fridge makes cold air in the freezer only and blows it into the fridge throu a little air door with a small fan, one of your temerature adjustments will open and close this little door and the other ajustment (the thrmostate) will turn on and off the compressor at what ever temperature you have it set for. if the little door is closed to much the cold air can not get into the fridge fast enough to make the temperature cold enough to turn of the thermostate. This will cause items to freeze near the air door as the air comming out of it will be something like -20C. to fix this it sometimes helps to open this little door more... something like "freezer temp warmer" and also to turn the "fridge temp warmer". if that does not do it, then the thermostate may be faulty, to test it slowly turn it down untill the fridge turns off, if it only turns off at the off position, replace it. also one last thing , sometimes the airdoor can frost up and restrict the air from blowing into the fridge, so you can unplug the fridge and leave the doors open for the weekend and let everything thaw out. then set all the controls for normal and plug back in. Make sure you do not leave the unit plugged in or sometimes the little door light can get so hot it may melt the plastic lining in the fridge.

I have a frigidaire model Frt18P5Aw1. The freezer is cold but the fridge is not. How do I fix?

there is a fan that blows the cold air from the freezer into the fridge. it's on the inside back of the freezer. it's either blocked in the freezer, in the fridge, or the motor is bad. remove any blockages in ther back of the freezer and feel if there is any air blowing into the fridge. if not, replace the fan motor. it's frigidaire manufacturers number 5303918549.

My freezer frosted over everything because the door was not shut tight and now it will not clear.

take out all the food out of the freezer, unplug the fridge and get a hair dryer and start melting out all the ice in the freezer, then blow the hot air into the vent holes on the back wall until you don't see any more water dripping down through the slots in the back wall.turn the machine back on,open the fridge door after around 5 or 10 minutes and if you feel cold air blowing into the fridge you fixed the problem,if you don't feel cold air keep hitting the inside back wall with the hair dryer and keep blowing the hot air into the holes in the back wall.all that it does is the freezer gets cold and there's a fan behind the back wall in the freezer, the fan blows the cold air into the fridge side,if the air ducts are frozen the air can't circulate into the fridge section so you have to melt the ice out so the cold air can blow from the freezer to the fridge.good luck,if you have another fridge remove the food and unplug it and leave the doors open for a day and it will melt out.good luck

Both Fridge and Freezer not blowing cold air.

with the thermostat turned to its coldest setting can you hear or feel the compressor running?  Can you find the defrost timer inside the refrigerator and turn it until the compressor stops, and then please let me know, JT
