Question about RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 Smartphone
I have a BB Bold, which I have been unable to send/receive emails or send/receive IM's for a couple of days running now.
I am able to send/receive text messages and my account is in order with my service provider.
I am currently roaming abroad, and have had no problems until now. Too expensive to contact T-mobile UK for phone support from here, and need my emails to ensure my business doesnt suffer..and IM's to keep in touch with my family in real time!
I notice that there is no "GPRS" showing at all....and I suspect this is the cause....though I may of course be wrong.
Any ideas on how I can fix this will be REALLY saving a life! :-)
There is a way to select 2G onlky connection mode, go the wireless connections icon in your menu, then select the 3G connection. From there you can select connection mode as 2G, 3G etc. Try 2G only and see if that helps.
Do you have a corporate blackberry server or are you with a phone company?

It needs to say "GPRS" or "EDGE" in the top right hand corner in captial letters. If there is lower case letters, this indicates the phone is having an issue with the data connection.
Have you been able to send/receive email whilst in the country you are in now?
Most obvious things first, remove the battery, then re-insert and reboot. This will reboot the phone and create a new connection to the Blackberry server. Let me know how that goes.
