Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: Won't steam

The steam irons I have see have a separate button to allow water from the reservoir to enter the steam chamber. This button latches down for steam and you unlatch it for dry. Also, there is a temperature range on the temp dial for steam.

The reservoir must have water in it for the iron to make steam. If calcium from the water has built up on the reservoir valve, it may prevent the water from entering the steam chamber. Straight white vinegar instead of water may help.

SOURCE: tefal proline express steam generator iron needs de scaling

Make a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Fill up your iron and get it good and hot then let it sit a couple hours. flush out and repeat as necessary. Hope you find this helpful. Please give me a fixya rating If this works for you. It works very well as long as it is not completely filled with scale. Once you have it good and clean By a gallon of bottled water at the market and use that for your Iron and you will never have a scale problem again. I learned how to do this 20 years ago from a 80 year old woman from england. If it is really bad you can up the vinegar concentration but do not go higher than 2 cup to 1.

I have a prolectrix iron but the water keeps poring out when you are ironing and clothes are soaking can you tell me what's wrong I've lost the instructions

Hello Annmarie Lynch,

Not reading the instructions IS the PROBLEM...!!

Clean up your mess... hang the clothes on plastic hangers over the bath-tub... Look over your IRON and figure out what model it is...

Get out your PC... My favorite for FREE owners manuals
is "manualslib" (I'll post it below)

Nevermind... (oops) wrong side of the planet.

That's a USA site... and it informs me
"PROLECTRIX" is a UK model...

So just search on Prolectrix+iron+owners...
Then READ THE MANUAL.

You will be pleased
(only go for the free copies)... better still

My iron every so often makes a high pitch noise

Hello,

There are several possible answers:

1. The iron has some scale build up and the steam is escaping and clearing a path until it builds up again.

2. If you have an iron with an electronic display or any type of circuit board - we have heard components on them make noise usually no problems.

3. It is highly suggested to read through the owner's manual as this may be a simple cleaning procedure or you may be directed to contact the manufacturer.

4. If are unsure, please contact the manufacturer for further guidance - your safety is of the utmost importance.

Best wishes,
Joe

Bosch Sensixx B25L

see the instruction from your manual:
Check the owner's manual for your iron to learn the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning, what water to use, and storage tips.
Soft-water systems add minerals that can harm an electric steam iron and your clothes so don't fill the iron with softened water. Instead, use filtered or distilled water.
2) if the iron does not heat a( test the power cord for open or defective b) and thermostat for adjust c) test the thermal fuse d) test the heating element for open.

Where do you put the water in for the steam?

The water fills through the hole on the front of the unit! Use a measuring cup and pour it in the hole....it should have a clear guage on the handle to show the water level.

My toastmaster iron has a steam button and a spray button. They will not work. Should I clean the iron out with vinegar?

You can try to remove the spray nozzle if it unscrews and soak it in vinegar or CLR (Calcium,Lime,Rust available at stores) solution. Yes or use vinegar water mix 1/4 c vinegar 2 c water, or again there are products that are made for iron cleanout but vinegar is the least chemical based and cheaper. Fill the sprayer with the solution, and the steamer also. Operate the iron on the highest steam setting and iron on a folded towel to clean it out. You may have to scrape out the scale build up from the sprayer if it wont clear with the solution.
