I have a Garmin Nuvi 650 with an unresponsive screen...can anything be done? Thanks

Power off your Garmin 660 unit. Press on continuously the upper top left corner of screen and then power on the unit by pressing once on the Power button. You should be prompted to clear all user data, or asked if do you really want to start up in maintenance mode. Press "Yes" to reset (warning: all data will be erased and lost, so backup before proceeding) or enter maintenance mode.
To back up your Garmin.
  • From the garmin drive, copy '/Garmin/GPX/current.gpx' to a backup location on your computer.
  • After the hard reset, copy your backed up 'current.gpx' from your computer back to the '/Garmin/GPX/' folder on the Garmin, but be sure to rename it 'temp.gpx'.
  • On the next power cycle, the Favorites will be read from 'temp.gpx' into the non-user accessible memory area on the Garmin where they are actually stored

  • This should reset your Garmin then I would suggest updating your device at the Garmin site. I will attach a link.
    Thanks for using FixYa

Garmin is unresponsive. Won't power up or turn

I have a Garmin c340 that would not turn on.
I found the hidden reset button and it works now.

With the display unit facing you, the aluminum cover plate has the the word GARMIN on it. Use you fingernail under the word Garmin and the cover plate comes off. The left part of the cover stays attached to GPS and the right side lifts up exposing the RESET button. I pressed RESET and POWER together and it works now.

Have you hooked it up to your PC and updated the unit's internal software via Garmin.com? This might solve your issue. Pls let us know if it does.

My garmin nuvi 670 touch screen is not calibrated

Have you tried using the screen calibration command? Press the Wrench symbol, then the Display symbol and then Calibrate screen. Press the dots as it tells you to and you should now have a calibrated touchscreen.

    Screen froze up

"If your Quest locks up....on rare occasions, your Quest may freeze or lock up. In this case, reset the Quest by pressing the unit's Power key and the IN key at the same time. This will turn off your Quest. The unit will operate normally when you turn it on again."
