Depends where you reside
Lyme disease is transmitted from ticks so is mostly a rural or suburban areas bordering on rural areas problem
Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease spread mainly by contact with water or soil contaminated by the waste water (P**ss)of infected animals
it can be contacted by swimming or wading in fresh unchlorinated water creeks , water troughs, puddles contaminated with animal waste water or by coming into contact with wet plants or soil that has been contaminated with animal waste water
that is to say swimming in creeks ,gardening , eating vegetable straight from the garden can transmit the disease
again more common in the rural areas where there are free roaming animals
all the details are on the web sites by going google and typing in --leptospirosis

I feel I have margollons disease. It's affecting moveable hair and skin what the hell can I do

This is a difficult topic and the subject of much debate about the exact nature of Morgellon's Disease, and the best treatment.

The consensus of opinion seems to be that the best medical approach is to first to eliminate the possibility of any skin infection, or other underlying condition (Lyme disease has been reported in a few cases) maybe by skin biopsy. After that there seems no close agreement amongst medicos generally.

In many many cases textile fibers have been found in the skin lesions of sufferers, which has led some researchers to investigate allergy as a cause. However nothing definite seems to have emerged from all that to date, either.

A common approach seems to be for doctors to dismiss the symptoms as psychosis, that is, "it's all in your mind", and say that there is really nothing wrong.

I'd ask first for a referral to a dermatologist, but if that isn't helpful I'm sorry to say I can't find out what is. Hypnosis? Acupuncture? I hope for a resolution for you.

Do you know the difference between family medicine and internal medicine?

Internal Medicine generally involves treating, preventing, and diagnosing diseases in adults. An Internal Medicine doctor can treat almost everything from the common cold to women's health issues. They will often refer you to a specialist if they think that you need more in depth care.

Family Medicine on the other hand generally involves treating, preventing, and diagnosing diseases in family members of all ages including children. A Family Medicine doctor can treat everything from the common cold to a child's case of the chicken pox. They generally have a wide range of services and they often offer convenient night and weekend appointments for busy families.

In terms of who you want to treat you, that depends on your personality. If you get timid at the doctor's office and prefer to be handled with kid gloves and TLC, you will generally want a Family Medicine doctor. If on the other hand you want a know BS general doctor who you can see whenever you have a health issue arise, then you are better off going with an Internal Medicine doctor.

Treatment of lyme disease

Treatments and drugs
By Mayo Clinic Staff

Antibiotics are used to treat Lyme disease. In general, recovery will be quicker and more complete the sooner treatment begins.

  • Oral antibiotics. These are the standard treatment for early-stage Lyme disease. These usually include doxycycline for adults and children older than 8, or amoxicillin or cefuroxime for adults, younger children, and pregnant or breast-feeding women. A 14- to 21-day course of antibiotics is usually recommended, but some studies suggest that courses lasting 10 to 14 days are equally effective.

  • Intravenous antibiotics. If the disease involves the central nervous system, your doctor may recommend treatment with an intravenous antibiotic for 14 to 28 days. This is effective in eliminating infection, although it may take some time to recover from your symptoms. Intravenous antibiotics can cause various side effects, including a lower white blood cell count, mild to severe diarrhea, or colonization or infection with other antibiotic resistant organisms unrelated to Lyme.

After treatment, a small number of people still experience some symptoms, such as muscle aches and fatigue. The cause of these continuing symptoms is unknown, and treating with more antibiotics doesn\'t help. Some experts believe that certain people who get Lyme disease are predisposed to develop an autoimmune response that contributes to their symptoms. More research is needed.

The Food and Drug Administration warns against the use of bismacine, an injectable compound prescribed by some alternative medicine practitioners to treat Lyme disease. Bismacine, also known as chromacine, contains high levels of the metal bismuth. Although bismuth is safely used in some oral medications for stomach ulcers, it\'s not approved for use in injectable form or as a treatment for Lyme disease. Bismacine can cause bismuth poisoning, which may lead to heart and kidney failure.
