SOURCE: GE Monogram refrigerator/freezer problem/ice dam in ice maker

I have had the same problem with ice forming. I found the problem is from the ice maker. The water fill tube delivers water to a plastic piece that acts like a funnel. The water goes through this plastic piece into the ice maker. Ice forms in the plastic funnel piece causing the water to overflow into the ice bin and freezer.

I have a ge adora fridge that when pressing the lever for ice makes a loud humming noise & feels like freezer wants to explode. Cab anyone tell me if they have ever run into this issue

You probably have a ice dam in your ice tray. The anger is trying to dispense if but if the cubes have frozen together and produced a large chunk of ice it cannot break up. Open the freezer door completely and lift up and pull out through ice tray. Remove ice until dam removed. Reassert tray and make sure to turn ice maker back on. It is essy to inadvertently bump switch. Try dispensing ice to see. If noise went away.
Hope this helped!

How do I avoid ice dams on the roof of my house?

Better insulation in your attic is the first thing to do. Seal air leaks from home to attic and add attic insulation.

Residential reroof, 3 layers comp. is ice & water required over eaves & rakes ???

Probably not required unless an older home or low slope roof, but very easy and not expensive to do when re-roofing. When attics were poorly insulated snow would melt above the attic from heat lost from the house, then refreeze at the eave causing an ice dam. More melting water hits the ice dam then back up under roof shingles and felt paper.

It is not required, but your specific conditions could warranty it. If your roofer is recommending it I would do it.

Water leaking inside refrig. and then freezing in lower bins

your drain tube is blocked with a ice dam and there is ice under the freezer floor. Removing the rear panel and floor will give you access to removing the ice and clearing the drain.

Cannot adjust refrigerator temp (warm) and freezer will not produce ice

There is an ice dam in the freezer port which is preventing cold air from passing into the refrigerator. Remove the bottom panel and melt the ice. Make sure the passageway in the very back of the freezer is completely clear of ice.

Icemaker forms ice dam at entry into door chute.

Look up into the chute from outside the door. Make sure the chute door is closing completely. That is a common problem on those but not in that short of a time. I have seen them that freeze up every few weeks or so, but yours is pretty drastic. I'm betting the door is not closing correctly.
