SOURCE: motorized brush bar not turning on Dyson Vacuum

Apparent common failure is that either the thin yellow and or blue motor drive wires that run from the LH side of the vacuum where the "control board" is located down into the hinge / ball area become stretched and then fray and eventually break. Happened to my Dyson twice. First repaired under warranty, second took about 20 minutes. You need a Torx screwdriver to remove the LH panel ( 4 screws) and also an access panel (2 screws) at the side of the ball which permits access to the blue / yellow wire connectors. I replaced with a new wire and connectors having fed the wires through the access hole making sure sure enough wire was available for the movement of the handle. Also ensure that when the covers are replaced they do not trap any wires underneath.

SOURCE: Bottom brush will not turn.

Did you check the drive belt? There are (Ithink) 4 screws underneath that you must remove to access that belt. It's likely the cause of your problem. Iether that or a build up of other gunk there.

Miele Vacuum SEB 234/236 Roller Brush Issue

If the roller brush of your Miele vacuum SEB 234/236 only spins when you manually hold down the switch, it indicates that there is a problem with the electronic circuit or mechanical parts responsible for engaging the brush. This could be caused by a faulty connection, a broken wire, or a malfunctioning switch. It's recommended to have the vacuum serviced by a professional to diagnose and fix the issue.

My Turboteq brush for my S2181 Miele is not spinning.

Yes, it is a turbo brush, but they do have a belt drive from the fan. There is a video here on the STB-206, which should help

Hi! My Miele Champagne model has recently not been wanting to start. I realized that the power head connection still turn on l, but the main motor in the canister does not. I’ve been lucky enough to get...

If a motor is seizing, they seize and don't go again. It may be the carbon brushes to the motor sticking. Switch it on and then give the side of the canister part a good flat handed slap. If it starts, or even starts and stops, it is likely to be the carbon brushes (nothing to do with the beater brush btw)

It may just need a new switch. An appliance engineer could easily test it, or someone you know with a test meter..

Miele S6270 Canister vacuum won't turn on.

Be sure to trace the continuity from one side of the plug
through the motor and back to the other side of the plug,
with the switch ON. If there is no continuity either the switch is gone or the motor is bad. If you expose the
motor check for dark spots on the field and the armature.
If there are discolored areas the motor might be shorted out. OH, don't forget to check the brushes.
Hope this helps.

My Miele capricorn has started making an odd noise. It seems like something is blocking the engine. I've turned if off and on, and reset it and it still have the odd, almost loud barking noise. The power...

Greetings,

This is a major problem. The Miele vacuums motor should never make a loud noise, period. The way the motor is designed, it's quiet and should be quiet for the life of the motor. There are two motors on your Miele canister. One of the motors controls only the suction of the vacuum, while the other motor controls the power brush. Which one of your motors is making this horrible noise? You can tell this by removing the wands and power brush so that you just have the handle of the hose by itself. Now turn on the vacuum, do you still hear this noise? If yes, then this is a problem with your suction motor, and you need to bring this in to have an authorized Miele repair center take a look at it. The reason I say that is because you have a 7 year warranty on that suction motor, so if something is wrong with that motor, then this will be covered under Miele warranty. If it's the power brush motor that's causing the sound, this probably will not be covered unless the vacuum is under 1 year old. If it is the power brush, please just use the clarificaiton request here on Fixya and let me know, I'd be more then happy to try and walk you through diagnosing the power brush motor with you.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you did find this helpful, please be sure to click the thumbs up icon in the repair. I really appreciate it.

Meile s251i won't turn on

Hi If the power head isn't working it may be clogged. Try taking it apart to see if threads and general dirt has got in at the sides. Also without the power head if the Miele still isn't working then its a possibility that the on switch wiring is either loose or check the plug at the end of the power cord.

Miele Mistral S7280 won't run after changing the bag

The Mistral range is the same as the new S7 that's just hit Europe. Have you made sure that when you turn on the vac on the handle that you've switched the carpet mode on? There's a separate button just under the power on button that activates the Carpet setting. Other than that check the sole plate where the roller brush to check for a blockage.
