Double check your audio settings. It is not always automatic with XP. You may have to manually select your type of audio listening such as headphones speakers. Are you using a sound card or the built in audio on the board?

Intel don't do an xp driver for this board. It may be worth downloading and trying the NT driver from www.intel.com

I can only see the mother board display icon but cannot login into the OS

Your hard-drive might have failed. Unfortunately the only way to check and make sure if it did is to take it out and place it in another computer if you have an extra comp. to try/test it on?

Installing sound drivers

First, visit this website:

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gc/gc_drive.htm

Next up select Windows XP Professional as your operating system. Now click, "Drivers." The first result should be the Realtek drivers, which are what you're searching for. Download them. Once they finished downloading open the file and the drivers should be installed automatically.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know. If this solution solved your problem, please rate the solution.
