SOURCE: HP Photosmart 7760 printer won't print on colored paper??????

hi icymay,

on photosmart machines you have different trays for different sized media. try placing it on the one for envelops tray or on the regular tray towards the left corner. try copying first if that works try printing from the pc. you may need to change the paper type if it fails to start the print job.

cheers

SOURCE: Ink not printing the same image quality that is on computer

Issue When printing directly from a memory card, the printouts have an abnormally high red tone.
NOTE: This does not affect the prints that were originally sent from the computer. Solution Press the Photo Fix button to turn off the Photo Fix feature before printing from a memory card. Cause The Photo Fix feature was originally designed to reduce/enhance printed pictures by making colors more vibrant. However, it can also have a side-effect to make some prints have more red tone than desired. In the HP Photosmart D7100 series printer, this feature is “ON” by default.

SOURCE: Out of Paper error on HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One

Cause:
======

1. This issue might be caused by any of the following:

2. The paper trays are empty or overloaded.

3. The paper is curled.

4. The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.

I would like to inform you that this issue can be resolved by following steps.

Power Reset:
==========
Disclaimer: A power reset sets the product to factory defaults.

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and
disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

2. Wait 30 seconds.

3. Plug in the power only.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB
cable from the all-in-one to your computer.
6. Restart your computer and check the functionality.

Plug the All-in-One directly into a wall outlet:
===================================

Use these steps to make sure the product is properly connected to a suitable
power source.

1. Make sure the computer and the product have a three-prong power plug.
2. Remove the product power cord from any power strips or surge suppressors,
and then plug it directly into a grounded wall outlet.

This should resolve the issue. However, if the issue persists, I request you to
perform Semi Full Reset.

Semi Full Reset:
=============
A semi-full reset will do the following:
The user settings to the factory defaults, Language and country settings on some
models.

Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these
instructions:

1. Press Red Eye Removal & Print Photos button simultaneously
2. Enter Special Key Combo is displayed on the screen.
A. Press and release in sequence "Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "Red Eye
Removal"
B. Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev XXXXX.
3. Press Right Arrow button until "Reset Menu" is displayed. Press OK.
4. Press Right arrow until "Semi full Reset" is displayed.
5. Press OK.

After the Semi-full reset I still had to fiddle with the paper tray but it did work.

Why do the prints have horizontal lines of no ink or very little ink?

Bad or clogged printheads or you need to align the print heads. This will also happen if you try to print high quality pictures on cheap paper. Full color prints require either a photo paper or at least a colorlok paper to produce good results.

My printer prints blurrey out of focus pictures. I download from my camera and print a few on photogaph paper. This happened once before and for reasons that evade me it cleared up and printed fine. ...

Before replacing this awesome printer try this steps first.

First check the paper you're using, load the paper with the printing side down.

In the program being used for printing, click File , and then click Print .

Make sure the appropriate printer is selected, and then click Preferences or Properties.

Click the Printing Shortcuts tab. Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts menu to increase print quality.

Print quality : If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the print quality. To print more quickly, try decreasing the print quality.

Paper type : If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic .

Paper size : Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the product.

Make sure that the image file has enough resolution for the size of the printed picture. Although many photo applications can enlarge an image or part of an image to any size, eventually the individual pixels become visible and the whole image looks blurry.

Color in printed pictures is terrible! All HP

try going into your printers properties and look for a print quality tab. One of the tabs will allow you to change your print style on pictures. Or the HP software that came with the printer should allow you to modify the print quality.

Green Tint Over Entire Printed Picture

I had a very similar problem and found out that the problem was the quality of paper I was using. Remember, a photo printer is expecting high quality results. Cheap, low quality paper will not accept the ink as well as higher quality paper. I can't guarantee this will solve your problem but I have not had any green tints since switching to a higher quality photo paper.
