If you have used re-chargeable batteries in the past, yes, otherwise no. If you consult the manual, you will find the correct type of batteries to use.

I have a Praktica 7303. When I turn it on, the lens retracts and shows the battery is low, but when on charge, the green light comes on to show the battery is fully charged. What is the problem?

Two possible issues.
1. The software that checks the battery is either wrong and your are not charged or you are charged. Just attempt taking pictures and see how long it lasts.
2. I don't know the age of your camera but the batteries could be shot and in need of replacement.

Try these two things and provide additional information and perhaps we can get closer to a possible answer.

Hi.
Instead of buying a special cable ,WHY DON'T YOU USE "A Memory CARD READER" THAT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR MEMORY CARD..
IT IS ABOUT 5.00-7.00 $..WITH THAT CARD READER-WRITER YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU NEED LIKE YOU ARE DOING WITH "USB FLASH MEMORY UNITS"..
THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PHOTOS/VIDEOS to PC ..
However if you still want to get a cable please visit the second ,URL below..

The battery cover as bowed i need to keep my finger pressed on the cover to take pictures if i dont keep my finger pressed on the battery cover the camera swiches off

it seems the battery box are a little loose for the battery, you can add some thing(such as small piece ) between the battery and the box to let the battery and camera connect well. Don't block the joint between battery and box is OK

Cd crached can i upload my pictures from my camera online

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Praktica dcz 8lm camera: when turned on the light comes on for a second then goes straight back off again. won't take pictures or allow you to view pictures on pc

Your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Praktica slimpix battery doesn't charge, usb connections ok,green light comes on on camera, but goes out as soon as i disconnected usb lead.

That is correct. The camera does not recharge the batteries. If you are using rechargeable batteries then you also need a compatible battery charger for the batteries you are using.

The power button of my Praktica Luxmedia 7303

I'm sorry. It was a false alarm. In fact the lead to the battery charger was faulty and the battery was not properly charged. By fiddling with it, we managed to recharge the battery fully and get the camera working.

I cannot seem to sustain any battery power with my slimpix 5200

I hate to say it but some cameras are batter eaters. no matter what you do or how many photos you take the batteries run down all the time. (I had a cannon camera that did this) My fix for this problem was to always carry extra batteries with me. My problem sort of fixed itself as the LCD on the back of the camera stopped working and the camera wouldn't stay on after that.

Some cameras will let you turn off the LCD screen when you are using the camera and that would most likely help but that takes all the fun out of using a digital camera.

Good luck
