Your analog stick just needs to be calibrated.

Step 1: Go to: Settings>System Settings>System Information

Step 2: Once you see your MAC Address, System Software Version, and Console Nickname, start to rotate the analog stick very slowly around it's entire axis. Then rotate it the other way, very slowly. Let go of it and it should be back in the center of it's axis.

Step 3: Press circle, and it should be fixed.

have you tried a usb mouse ?? as if that works it will be the touch pad is playing up. you can disable it and use a wireless mouse or usb one. as it would be cheaper then replacing the touch pad.

Acer aspire 5735 touchpad not working properly doesn't zoom

You can try updating the software for the touch pad but the most likely problem is you have a bad touch pad. Touch pads don't necessarily go all at once. You lose some functionality. In your case, it would appear you are able to to point and move the cursor. You didn't mention, does the touchpad respond when you tap it to hit ENTER instead of hitting the ENTER key itself. This is 1 area that will commonly lose function over time as well.

My laptop computer is okey except that the touch command for the cursor is not responding, if i use a mouse thru the usb port then its alright..why does the touch command for the cursor not responding?

Touch pads are not very reliable. I have seen a lot fail.
A computer repair person will need to replace it for you.
My advice is to stick with a USB mouse. Or if it is under warranty, take advantage of that warranty.
Best of luck.

Touch pad failed.

Look along the top of the keyboard for an "f key" that shows a "touch pad" icon, IF you see it, press the "function key" (along the bottom of the keyboard) PLUS at the same time the "f key" (that you found along the top) and that should "toggle" the touch pad back on....
Also, IF you plug in a USB mouse that will allow you to move the cursor around--but the USB mouse doesn't fix your touch pad problem.
Hope this helps.

Cursor Shift

This could be either a driver glitch or the touch pad is going out, both are common on these models. Start by uninstalling the drivers for the touch pad (some times referred to as the synaptic pointing device), then restart the machine. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers automatically. If it's a simple glitch, this will fix it. If it persists, then the pad is failing and will need replaced. The only other thing you might try is to adjust the cursor speed or touch pad sensitivity from the control panel. This will sometimes help to dampen the effect, but usually won't get rid of it entirely.

Drfting cursor

This is a well known occurance with laptops and is not something you can fix. Occasionally the manufacturer will release a patch to try and help, but this is very rare.
