Question about Kodak EASYSHARE Z1285 Digital Camera
Don't open it!! That will void any warrenty the camera has! Have you tried cleaning it with Denatured Alcohol? You can puchase it at any store with a hardware dept. Just soak a q-tip in the alcohol and swab the camera down. It's safe to use on the screen and keys, and zoom buttons. I turn mine off and on several times to ensure that all the moving parts get cleaned. The alcohol evaperates almost instantly so theres no need to dry it off unless it's soaked. I clean mine outside on a picnic table b/c the alcohol has fumes and an odor that is a bit overwhelming. I hope this helps, if not call kodak, espically if it's still under warrenty. This denatured alcohol tip was given to me by a camera specialist.

I had the exact same problem with the same model camera, when you insert new batteries you have to set the date and time or your camera will malfunction and the only way to fix it is to have a manufacturer reset it; there is no way to reset the camera yourself
