SOURCE: 2pin male connector of the motherboard (261671-001) purpose?

the switching power supplies are fun, by 2 pin plug is that from the AC side or computer side?

from AC side its easy enought to go buy another plug thought it should have come with one.

i cant remember any 2 pin plugs on the computer side and i have taken quite a few of these apart. there is a four pin plug...

wire colors,
yellow 12 volt
black ground
red 5 volt,

if the old supply was any of those colors you can desolder from the old supply and re solder it onto the new supply. if it was another color then i would suspect a random signal wire or cutout, keep you from frying yourself with the case open... try plugging up the new supply and turning on the computer if it runs why worry about it?

No power in Craigieburn Umkomaas

There is a question as to whether or not this interruption of power is unusual. 95% of power in South Africa comes from Eskom. There appears to be issues regarding power outages. You can call the company and get a trouble ticket but if history is relevant, it may be hours before power is restored.

Your alternative power supply would have to be from a pruchased generator.

My 47 inch lcd tv screens goes pitch black randomly for a few seconds at a time, no reason. The sound is still audible in the background so the probelm is just with the picture. any suggestions

Either 3 boards may cause this issue and need servicing before it grows into a larger more expensive problem.....

Inverter boards
power supply
Time control board

Its a sustain problem and a really easy repair shouldn't cost too much.........

How much does it cost to repair a ps3 with a

If your not technically inclined, Sony will charge $149 as according to the people of this board:

or according to this page about $100:

My guess would be to take it to a local repair shop near you as they may not charge as much. The blinking lights that you are referring to usually mean the power supply has gone bad and power supplies don't run much. This guy thru Ebay has the power supplies for $50 and thats with free shipping. Don't know the guy personally but $50 seems reasonable if you know how to get into your ps3 and take out the old power supply and put the new one in.|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1234|240%3A1308|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Really its up to you. Its not hard taking the ps3 apart. Just taking a few screws out from the bottom and then a few from the top and taking the top cover off and exposing the ps3.

A surge protector stops power surges from eskom etc. from fryin your mother board and power supply. when the power goes off sometimes its just a phase . when all phases are off and the power comes back to all Phases instantly at a strong output this can fry your mother board or damage your power supply . surge protector keeps the power at one level even if it isnt , make sense? Also see UPS.Lightning can do the same effect too

LG42PC1D failure to switch on

Usually this problem is caused by poor solder connections on the main power supply board. The unit being a plasma tv has many supply voltages and sometimes has multiple power supply boards. By removing these boards and resoldering any suspect connections, the problem is usually resolved. Many companies will do anything to avoid repairing a unit that is working, even intermittantly. Call the responsible parties and demand that they service your unit properly, not brush you off. Scrivitron
