So little information provided here but basically you need to go to the TV settings and and adjust the size of the image. Sometimes, HD TVs will show a non-HD input in a smaller version. Again, this is all found in the settings.

There should be a button on the remote that says aspect, view or mode. What kind of tv is it?

Getting my new LED TV to display on he entire 24 screen. How do I adjust the picture size to fill the full screen?

Whether the screen is full or not is not adjustable it all depends on what aspect ratio the program is broadcast in. You can use the TV's Zoom feature but that blurs the picture and you loose video content.

Cannot get full screen picture

Full screen resolution depends on the source signal that you feed to your LCD TV. Most often, the signal come in 16:9 screen size, which sometimes show big black portion on both top and bottom of screen. To maximizes screen display, you can adjust the screen size of your LCD TV through remote control, this features are available in most LCD TV. you will have the option to choose Full Screen Mode, 16:9 screen resolution or many others to choose from (most case about 3 to 4 screen size.

Gateway P41M`01 Picture off the top and bottom

You should have a button for "aspect ratio" (unsure of your brand of tv), could be marked "screen size - picture format" etc. Cycle through the sizes with this button until you come to auto or wide (set to auto to adjust the pictures to what is being transmitted - wide for a full screen but will stretch the picture to fill when transmitted in 4:3 format)

assuming you all have comcast and using an hdmi cable
first access menu (hit it twice) and go to set picture format, choose passthrough....or in your case auto hdmi

then turn box off, press guide and info on the front of the box, proceed through the setup, advanced is more in depth..lol...

select 1080, 720, and then either the standard or widescreen 480s to your liking.....

voila....

now check your tv settings to accommodate
