SOURCE: need to install power cord to terminals on 220 AC motor

Ok, read the data plate on the motor. Does it have a zero with a line straight through it. That means it's single phase. Also the plate may list two different voltages 110/220ac correct. On the inside of the panel of the box where the cord connects it will have a two diagrams. One marked low voltage, the other high voltage. You want 220ac so follow the high voltage diagram. Since it's single phase the green wire will go to a green screw in the box. The black wire from your cord is positive and the white negitive (actually neutral but shown on diagrams as negitive). The wire coming out of the motor will have numbers on it's casing. Follow the connection points on the diagram. Don't worry if you hook them backwards the motor just won't turn. It won't hurt anything.

SOURCE: replaced (properly)4 prong power cord because

Did you check the circuit breaker or fuse? 4 prong(220V) circuits are generaly on their own breaker or fuse so it should be fairly easy to spot.

How to hook up electrical? 220v single phase? What color wires on which connections of the plug?

Identify the prongs. If you have wired a 110-volt fixture or plug, then you are aware that the different prongs connect to different colors of wires. The same principle holds true for 220-volt plugs, and this is very important to keep from tripping the circuit breaker. A three-prong plug will connect to two colored wires that each supply 110 volts and a bare copper wire which is the ground. One of these colored wires will be black, while the other one should be red, white, or blue. The four-prong plugs connect to a black and a red wire that each supply 110 volts, a white neutral wire, and a bare copper ground wire.

Need to know how a mobile home split system is wired with just ac and 15 kW heat stripesqqq

you have to have 240 volts for power. 24 volts to operate cool and heat. thermostat feeds color code white to heat yellow to cool green to fan. think of the thermostat as a light switch. transformer in system feeds common to different controls & usually red to thermostat which is then switched to what it is set for.

Hi just wondering about 240 volt. What is the black wire and what is the red one and green and yellow....Which one is L1- N- E

The black wire is Half of the 240 volts. Both the black and red wires carry 120 volts to make 240 volts. The green wire is going to be your grounding wire. The yellow wir is more than likely your neutral wire (although that goes against the electrical code). Tie in L1 to either black or red. Attach the yellow to n. I hae no idea what the E stands for. What color and how many wire are coming from the oven?

Let me guess, you have a flat ribbon type harness coming from AC unit to thermostat, correct?
Older Ac unit? What thermostat model came off, and what type are you trying to install?

What is the polarity and voltage setting for the hot water on demand system

Well if you buy a 220 system it will be 220 volts.
All the bigger systems like for whole house will be 220.
some smaller under sink models will be 110.
There is no polarity since it is AC. If you find something that says polarity on a on demand water heater then somebody at the factory is smoking something.
110 has 3 wires. all tests need done with a multimeter on the AC setting.
Black wire will be 110 volts AC, White wire is neutral and green wire is ground.
220 system also has 3 wires. Colors can vary a bit here but usually it goes like this.
Red wire is 110 AC - Black wire is 110 AC and white wire is Neutral or ground.
Test to ground they read 110 Volts AC test to each other they read 220 AC because they are out of Phase to each other.
PLEASE note. Always get a certified electrician to work on these units. If you feel you are just as good as any electrician, please make sure you have a family member nearby with a phone that can dial 911. 110AC can kill you and 220 AC can kill you faster and deader.

To know whether any particular unit is 110 or 220 we would have to have the model number to look it up. Some can be either and in this case the only way to know is to take the junction box apart. If it is just plugging into a regular wall outlet then it is 110. If it looks like a special plug or like a dryer plug then it is 220.
Hope that helps. Have a great weekend.

Contact sony. There was a class action law suit about this. They were covering light engine replacement. Before doing this if you are using component input (3 wire video) progressive scan besure all wires are connected correctly. check color coding of wires. incorrect hookup or 1 bad wire can cause color problems.

I had to change the3 power cable because the black cable broke. Now my dryer wont start. How do I fix this

To install a 3-prong power cord on your dryer, use the following color code at the terminal block:

RED - HOT (120VAC)
BLACK - HOT (120VAC)
WHITE - NEUTRAL (0VAC)

Match the corresponding wires to the colors present at the terminal block. The Neutral wire should have a ground strap to the equipment cabinet. If there are no colors on the wires, the two outer wires (left and right on the terminal block) are the HOT leads. The center wire is Neutral.

If you have already correctly installed the power cord, check your thermal fuse. The fuse will trip in an over current condition and will need to be replaced. A wire buring in half will case this. The fuse is located on the blower fan housing inside the dryer.

In addition, check your circuit breaker. Some homes use two 120VAC breakers to provide the 220-240VAC for the dryer power. You may have a breaker tripped.

If you have any questions about this repair, please let me know. Post back with your complete model number so that I may be able to assist you better. I hope this helps you.

The pump motor is a two speed 1.5 h.p.. It was factory set for 240 and I had only 110. Technician said we could eliminate one wire and this would accomplish the switch. The motor continually shuts on and...

Your three wire system was 115V? I assume then it was Line, neutral, and ground and you would hook the Line and neutral to the motor line posts and the ground to the ground post.

You also need to be sure to reset the motor from the 230 volt to the 115 volt setting to match the line voltage you are supplying.
