When you turn the key on you should hear it click open. if your not sure it is opening you can take a 1/2 inch wrench and take it off and turn the key on you should see it pull down. while you have it off be sure the rubber black top is tight and not pulling off. pinch off the fuel lines before you do this so you dont have gas flowing everywhere.

The fuel shut off solenoid does not pull in to allow fuel to carburetor.Fuel tank is full, new fuel filter and pump.

Check solenoid valve coil for continuity with the multi-tester.
If it is open, you need to change it but if it has continuity, you have two more options. first, try to turn on (not start) ignition, then check if wire for solenoid has incoming supply (12V) with your tester. if no voltage, there is fuse problem, if it has then your solenoid is stuck up mechanically. if you can open this, maybe there's something clogging, if you can't, you are obliged to replace this solenoid.

What is the electrical part on bottom of carburetor and what does it do

Some lawn more motors include a anti dieseling l solenoid to restrict fuel from entering the carburetor after engine shut down. The technical name is "anti-afterfire solenoid"

When the key is turned on the solenoid retracts allowing the gas to enter the engine as the engine is cranked. When the engine is turned off and no spark condition the engine can continue to run igniting the fuel from a glowing combustion chamber (like a glow plug engine). This device prohibits fuel from continuing to enter the Carburetor after the key is turned off, No spark, no fuel engine will stop.

ZTH6125 was mowing when PTO shut off & wouldn't turn back on. Turned the engine off and then it wouldn't start I can jump it from solenoid only if I put gas in the carb Once carb runs out then it dies

Sounds like the 20 amp fuse is blown behind the operator panel. If it is blown none of the relays are going to work nor will the fuel shut solenoid operate allowing fuel into the carburetor.

I have a 2009 super bronco riding mower won't start, but when I put gas in the carb with a straw it runs. Does this 20 horse Koehler have a solenoid?

it could be a bad fuel pump, dirty float bowl causing the float to freeze shut, not allowing fuel into the carburetor or the electric actuator, on the bottom of the float bowl, is frozen shut from corrosion or bad fuel, also not allowing fuel into the carburetor. also check the fuel filter.

Yardman wood chipper stalls every 10 minutes

What brand engine do you have? B&S? I would start with the fuel system first. Make sure fuel filter is not clogging, check and make sure that the vent cap on the gas tank is not clogged. If the cap is clogged, it creates vacuum in the gas tank which will eventually prevent proper fuel flow going to the carburetor. If your engine has a fuel cut off solenoid (Located Under Carburetor) check the wire connection going to it and make sure that all connections are good in that circuit. You should see battery voltage going to the solenoid when the ignition is turned into the run position. The electric solenoid that opens and closes the plunger that allows fuel to flow into the carburetor could be failing when it gets hot. These fuel cut off solenoids don't commonly electrically fail but the plunger can start to stick causing lack of fuel flow or no fuel flow. They are normally in the closed position when ignition is turned off. Hopefully this information will help you out given the fact that I'm guesstimating on the engine that you may have. Take Care.

time to pull the hose off the fuel pump coming from the tank and drain the tank and check flow of gas coming from tank hose, and possibly inline fuel filter is plugged or there is junk in your tank/line from tank not letting enough fuel to run to pump so pump can pump it to carb !

Have troy bilt riding lawn mower engine is not getting gas through carb. what is the solenoid thats attached to the carb?

That is the fuel solenoid that allows gas to get into the carburetor when it starts up. The fuel solenoid opens up when the key is turned on to allow fuel into the main jet of the carburetor.
go to www.precisionope.com, you should be able to find an Illustrated parts list on the engine.

Hello Re-Be:

From your Description and if the Fuel Shut Off Valve is Open (if Applicable) and Gas is Flowing to the Carburetor, it Sounds like the Carburetor Solenoid is Bad or the Carburetor Requires Soaking and Cleaning.
>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File I made for Checking the Carburetor Solenoid. Any Input is Appreciated.
>>The Carburetor Solenoid is Usually on the Bittom or Bottom Side of the Carburetor Bowl. There are 1 or 2 Wires going to this Solenoid.
>>**Check for Current/Voltage (10.5 VDC Minimum) to the Carburetor Shut Off Solenoid. If the Carburetor Shut Off Solenoid has Current, then On Some Solenoids you can Remove the Needle and Replace the Solenoid to Test them.
>>****PLEASE DO NOT OPERATE THE MOWER WITH THE SOLENOID BYPASSED IN THIS MANNER. THIS IS "ONLY" FOR TESTING.****
>>For Others, Remove the Carburetor Solenoid and Go to the Hardware Store. Purchase a Bolt of the Same Diameter and Threads. It Needs to be 1/2" to 3/4" Long for the Horizontal Mount Solenoids and 1/4" to 1/2" Long for the Vertical Mount Solenoids. Put this Bolt in Place of the Solenoid. If this Corrects the Engine Problem, then Replace the Solenoid.
>>***NOTE: THIS IS FOR CHECKING THE SOLENOID ONLY I NEVER SUGGEST YOU OPERATE THE ENGINE WITH THE SOLENOID OUT OF THE CARBURETOR EXCEPT FOR TESTING PURPOSES***
>>Sometimes the Plunger is Moving, Just Not Far Enough to Allow the Gas to Enter the Jet Properly.** **Use 440 Wet Dry Sand Paper and Engine Oil to Clean the Pin. Wet the Sand Paper with Oil Until it is Flexible and then Lightly Polish the Pin. There is Some Slop/Free Play in the Solenoid Pin. Usually the Electromagnet is Simply Not Pulling the Pin as it Should or there is a Small Bur on the Pin. Use 440 Wet Dry Sand Paper and Engine Oil to Clean the Pin. Wet the Sand Paper with Oil Until it is Flexible and then Lightly Polish the Pin. Clean and Lightly Oil the Pin before Inserting it Back into the Solenoid. Just a Film of Oil is All it Takes.**
>>If the Carburetor Solenoid Checks Good, then Soak and Clean the Carburetor.
>>Replace Any Spring Style Hose Clamps with the Screw Style Hose Clamps.
>>A Vacuum Leak to the Fuel Pump (if applicable) will Caiue this Problem.
Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine and the Mower Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Engine Model Numbers May be Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The Mower Model Numbers are Usually Located Under the Seat on a Sticker on the Body of the Mower.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully
